Snowweek Shoot-out in Woodgate

That makes me wonder if the dealer sand bagged it to make it run slower on the stock run. If they did, that is a shame. Or, maybe they thought it would run better on 6 and were trying to cheat???

Either way, it's hard enough to 'police' these guys I bet!! Just look how dynotech caught SkiDoo cheating last yr!! (or yr before? machz)

sleakfreak each setting of the TRA clicker is roughly 200 RPM differnence @ WOT The TRA is actually a really easy clutch to make WOT rpm changes out on the trail.. literally one min from shutting down the engine to starting it back after making chages (assuming the clutches aren't too hot to touch! lol)

stoutner as sad as it is there was an award given to the dealer that posts the biggest gains between stock to dealer prep!!

How many years have they been running the Shoot-Out up in Woodgate?
Do you think, once, just once, maybe Big Moose could make a Yamaha run just a little quicker?
Even if they stumbled across the right combination and set-up, just once, can't they learn how to make a Yamaha run faster?
If Big Moose Yamaha was coaching your favorite team, and they never found a way to win, would you let them keep coaching?
There are a long of talented and knowledgeable Yamaha riders on this site, I'm sure I could gather enough information from everyone here, to set up our Apex GT and Apex RTX to be faster in specific distances.

I think big moose should have ulmer send them a clutc hsetup for the distance.

Forget Big Moose, we could send our own team to do the 'prepped' sled!!!

08NitroRTX, it's been a while since I have been on a DOO and just forgot at what the RPM number was.... I thought it was 150, so I said 100, just so I was not too high...... You are correct though, I have changed my clickers on my 03 REV and many other ski-doo's I have owned to change how the sled is pulling..... It changes the shift characteristics and you usually gain in one area and lack in the other. The best position for the clicker is 3 or 4.... After that you need to start adding weight to the pins.....

How about the guys who are building aftermarket exhausts for the Yamaha 4-strokes? Aren't they from central new york? Didn't they just pick up a Yamaha snowmobile franchise?
EXCEL Power Sports?

They did (Excell), and in the future it would be great to see them up there setting up the machine. Moose has always focused on Cat more, and have somehow managed to make stock sleds slower just about every year.

What model Apex was run...actually what gearing does that model have?

GT and apparently they don't let them play with the gearing. I'm surprised they did not run the RTX. It's geared lower.

I can assume the GT still uses 24-38?
