How are you using your Orange secondary spring?

I am running a stock winder with stm weights, set up with Ulmers recommendations, and a pink/ pink/ pink primary spring. In the secondary is. 33/35 helix and Thunder orange spring at 3&3. 350 miles without issue, but find it a little lazy on top, do you think going 2&3 will help with this issue? Rpm’s now are 8750 through mid range and 9000 flat out at 112 mph on speedo.

All stock, you should be alright. I updated switching to 2-3 for the orange spring setting. You aren't flashed so not to worry. Please report back with results
Thanks for the quick response back. Was worried there for a bit. Hopefully we get a little more snow here in Pa. I'd like to see how she works before heading back up to Maine in February. I'll be sure to post my results. Thanks again Nos-Pro.

Put 200 miles on yesterday in poor conditions. The sled worked great, good jump on low end rolling on throttle, great back shift, and surprisingly very little belt dust from the 8jp. Got 15.2 mpg at first fill up. 810 miles for the year so far and no issues other than the clutch rattle and my weeping oil tank that will be fixed under warranty, not from the seal put a bad casting. Very happy with the sled so far.

This is what i ran first week.
-Stock with 96 studs
-TP orange springs rear at 60 degrees
-33/35 helix
-HH weights set the way Lonn told me
-911 adjustable cover
-Carbon belt
-offset was 61.5mm

Ran good until 100.....that was all she would do. Noticed rpm's would drop every long pull. Belt must have been getting hot. Put on 8jp with same mph & rpm's, but at least it stayed consistent. I forgot #'s, but 8JP ran cooler. I pulled tip weight, but no gains.

I have since installed TP rollers front & rear with rear adjuster. I measured EXACT offset & put it at 60.5mm. I will put rear spring at 50 degrees.

Next week going away. My plan is to try 8JP, Carbon & 8DN with digital heat gun & note pad for mph & rpm recording.
The belt that runs the best i will then re-tune my weights to...................i'm HOPING the 8DN wins!

I have a Rtx SW that I have put 300 miles on. No tune. Orange TP secondary spring and 33/35 helix. Have it set at 3-3. Clutches are always warm to the touch never hot. And the belt looks fine. I am leaving this coming week to ride again. Hope to get some top speeds and rpm max numbers.

Im running a stock tune with Ulmer primary setup. Stock belt. LTX LE with 1.6 Ice cobra, stock drivers. 800 miles on sled. Orange secondary at 3-3. Happy with low end performance. Missing some top end although RPMs settle in at 8900. Not sure if 2-3 will help or if I should try stock secondary spring and compare to see if I can get some top end back.

Change secondary to 2-3.

We have same set up & same problem on top. I'm hoping loosening rear spring helps.

17 rtx le Changed my spring to 2-3 set up ( all stock otherwise)and rode in the up this weekend. Non nearly as snappy feeling this way. Conditions were terrible ranging from slush and dirt to hard pack heavy snow My rpms dropped as speed increased and settled at 8450-8500 with a top speed of 96mph. Stock apex was right next to me or a sled length behind the whole way. NEver got to run 3-3 in good conditions so I don’t know if sled is a dog or not. Got to get this figured out!!!

I was out in the same conditions , with all stock set up , and sled was awesome again.
I was also riding with an Apex , and made him look like he was standing still , from standing start , from rolling start , to letting him take off , and then me reeling him in .
I have not made any changes YET , a , because my stock set up is so good , b, because like you I don't want to have issues .
That being said I want to try and wake up the bottom end , so I can launch with transfer when I want .
I would like to be able to reinstall the blocks and control the transfer , not keep chasing it .
From all I have read this should be accomplished partially ,by going to a lower degree initial helix , like 33/35 , or 32/35 , and put in a different secondary spring .
If that doesn't work to my liking , or if I start blowing belts , I will go back to stock , which is pretty awesome .
NEXT YEAR , I will most likely get a quick spooling flash , with all the other necessary changes recommended.
Good luck , getting your situation resolved .

Liking this approach!

Finally got to try mine with TP orange secondary spring wrapped at 2-3. Still breaking the belt in, though. So, just on and off the flipper and no top end runs. Like the bottom end grunt, but not the extra heat on the clutches. Not too hot to touch, but hot. Definitely more than previous (stock secondary spring and 35/39 Helix. ) I have to factor in almost 45 degrees for weather too, though. Not sure how much that and on off for 5 miles affects clutch temps? Don't think I ever previously felt the clutches in those conditions. So, not sure if this a fair opinion or comparison thus far.

Last year I drove Hurricane 225 flash, otherwise standard. Drove 2650 km (1650 mile) with 8jp, no problem.
This year I drive Hurricane 270 race with Thunder Products Big Venom kit and Orange Secondary set at 3,3. Running 6 km (4 mile) the belt went straight of, put on a used belt that lasted 100 km (62 mile), then it went straight of. Put on a new belt that lasted 250 km (155 mile), it went straight of. All the belts went off as I drove slowly and pulled hard on the gas. The first in loose snow on a lake. The other on hard snow on the trail. The last one was in deep snow. Now I'll try a Gates carbon.
Any suggestions on what to do otherwise?
How did you like the 225 flash? Did it waken it up a bit. Everything was still stock on clutching and exhaust using the 225?
