Thunder Products Orange Secondary spring **Update**

Do you think his hp was a typo 270 to track,so he is 500 plus at crank?
It’s a 270 kit I’m sure, same as mine. Stock clutches can’t handle anything more than 350hp they go boom. :bash:

I just had to post the “CLUB DUDE” he’s my favorite! Viking/Tasmanians R cool! Gotta wonder how his parents met each other?

Snowbeast it is 270hp+ in the engine. Gonna put it on dyno in couple of weeks to see the hp. But it is at least 270 in it

What I was thinking, its all good,as long as these motors last and haul the mail,i am good with it,mine is now stating to perform, but darn transfer block system on the ltx 137,s don't transfer well at all.

FYI as a follow up. I just got back from millinocket Ned did 630 miles. TP 33/35, rollers and orange spring. No issues and no belt problems. Hope it continues that way!

Did 110 mile run this weekend 5 degrees out orange secondary new gates belt on turbo viper 40/46 reverse angle helix no issues

First of all Scott, thank you for tearing up my trails while i was sick in bed. LOL
Second of all, what is in your primary?
Stock sled?
Did you run secondary at 50 or 60?

Primary and motor are stock. Secondary at 3&3. Looking forward to millinocket again mid March but don't want to be that far into into winter anytime soon........

My primary spring is a 30/90, it's not stiff. I ran these weights and spring last year without issue. The spring may work for some but it's not working for me.
Are you now saying the ulmer blk/pink 30/90 is now not working for your set up this year? But last year it was all good. What changed?

Did you update your stage 4. I had to add weight after I did.
Cool,he said its better low and mid, quicker spool, adds 6-8 hp mid,as long as it spools quicker, than I will have mine redone next summer.

No just saying the TP secondary spring did not work for me.
So how bad was it wrapping that red secondary spring allen has us running on that 42/36? He has me taking weight off the stm ramps, what did you end up running your stm ramps at,with that helix and spring at 100 degrees??

Really? You just pm'd me and I told you all this...

Update . Ran the orange spring @ 40 today in 14 inches of new snow trail and lake. Backshift and upshift was still good in the deep snow. Did a full throttle lake run of 1/2 mile in 14 inches of new snow after trail riding and lake riding 5 miles @ 55 and checked the clutches and belt for heat when I got to shore. They were warm but not hot. Secondary was a little warmer than the primary. No problems leaving my hands on them. I think I will leave it there for now.

Nice glad someone finally compared this TP orange spring.
No mention of helix angles or type of belt being used makes this all useless info tho. Run that spring with a 40 degree helix with an 8dn belt, you’ll probably want more twist than 40 degrees. On the other hand run that spring with a 33/35 and a Gates Carbon belt and you could turn it down to 20~30 degrees twist.
M2C.
