16mph in 660ft? like 1-6? Sixteen?
I was thinking the same thing...wow that is a monster increase in speed in a very short distance??? Can that even be possible???
There is no way a clutched 850 can come close to a sidewinder its embarrassing to to compare the 2 and a clutched stock sidewinder will kill it. FACTAll our clutch kits are $299.95 US.
A tune can be anywhere from around $300-$500 and up more with full race tunes.
As mentioned, sorry to burst anybody's bubble, but that 850 that is testing our clutching hasn't lost to a Winder yet, in stock class.
Yes, stock for stock, a stock Sidewinder will beat a stock 850 Doo everytime......until now. The clutch kit we are final testing on the 850 Doo gained 16 mph in 660ft. over a stock 850 Doo.
Difference from a stock Sidewinder to a Thunder Products clutched Sidewinder is 2.5 sled lengths in 330ft., 4 sled lengths in 660ft. and has way better pull on top end where the Sidewinder starts to taper off at 116mph. @Keith Schmitz gained mph and had no problem seeing 123mph out of a Thunder Products clutched stock Sidewinder.

There are legends and there are legends in their own mind, but if it’s true I’ll buy one. It happened to me once racing 660; not that much but close, I hit the nitrous hard.

Skidoo purposely made the turbo 900 smaller so they can avoid direct comparisons to the sidewinder ( I think they know they can't compete against Yamaha cc for cc in 4strokes ) . That is why they had to make the 1200 a 1170cc to over power Yamaha's 1049cc vector motors. And the other two manufacturers can barely make atv utility motors

Yes, you are reading correct.... 16 (sixteen) mph, videoed by go-pro, run with the TD gauge and timers

Then the timers, TD gauge and go-pro.... not to mention the wins are all falsified. Try to tell me the timing system and go-pro are not factual

Sometimes people just need to face the facts that their sled is slower. Personally anything over 100 on the trail is hauling #*$&@ and whats a few MPH's? I know its different for racing and a few MPH's matter. Then the timers, TD gauge and go-pro.... not to mention the wins are all falsified. Try to tell me the timing system and go-pro are not factual
Not denying your setup would be faster but to gain 16 mph in 660' is way to much for an 850 2 stroke must have been a glitch on one of the runs and it does happen I use the TD gauge all the time and or the most part its pretty consistent but the odd time it has an oddball reading. Time will tell because if your promising that big an increase and it doesn't pan out you will know about it real fast. Then the timers, TD gauge and go-pro.... not to mention the wins are all falsified. Try to tell me the timing system and go-pro are not factual

It could happen if the sled was running shitty in the beginning when timed, (660)then straightened out added clutch kit then ran again, there would be a more mph, or that sled had real bad clutching to begin with, just saying! C ‘mon man

Basing off of "stock class "drag race isn't real . I know from racing nothing is stock with racers. U can throw that out the window... I tell my buddies my sled is stock to , but reality I have spent weeks of work on it lolThen the timers, TD gauge and go-pro.... not to mention the wins are all falsified. Try to tell me the timing system and go-pro are not factual

BRP designed the Rotax Ace series engines with multi-platform purpose in mind. Knowing that it would be released in the CanAm Spyder first, Watercraft, and CanAm Maverick X3 way before the sleds would see it. Being that it would be in the SXS class, many states were imposing a 1000cc limit to maintain class 2 ATV status.
So no, they didn't have to go that small, at 899cc, but the needed to be 999 or less. And this also left them room to size up for an "R" series in the future.
In the X3 it's 172hp with turbo stock. So the stable baseline is conservative in relation to the sidewinder. But again, it was not designed to compete with the Sidewinder or their own 850.

" left room for the R series " that correct because they can't compete head to head , just like when the srx 700 was around, everyone else stopped making 700s and went to 800s , the 1000cc limit plays right into Yamaha favour with all the racing development on race bikes

Maybe the kit includes plugging in the 2nd plug wire?It could happen if the sled was running shitty in the beginning when timed, (660)then straightened out added clutch kit then ran again, there would be a more mph, or that sled had real bad clutching to begin with, just saying! C ‘mon man
