Overall right now or near future NO. Curious though. Some of you guys must have run Turbo Apexes and Tuned 1100 cats by now. What happens? They are all over the lakes and rivers around here.

I think the 900t will be a real sneaky sled down at bottom. When these get tuned to 180-200hp as it seems they are already close to early on tunes, and the way the Rmotion transfers(and the winders dont), the doos come out hard. I can see the iTC being strong down low, and corner to corner will be a fun sled. Of Course tuned winders will walk away hard but the bottom end of a stock winder is smooth and not violent at all, it takes them awhile to get pulling hard.

Im sure we will see alot of videos of 900t crowd with early tunes, putting a hurtin on their 850 buddies. Its nice to be the underdog and be close to 80mph or so, that makes them happy. With GAP working with tuners on the 900t, they will get all the cool tech we got here with the 998 soon enough, but the big power(240+++) will remain winder territory.

Sure looks like a boosted 900t to the same 200 hp as a stk winder ,the 900t will be out front .

Goddammit, Beerman has a Track Hawk?? I will bend my knee for a mere sniff of the exhaust...

Personally, 70 was the year that muscle cars died and only four were ever on my radar:
68 GT500
70 LS6 Chevelle
70 L88 Vette
70 Hemi Superbird

Sheer performance wise even last year’s Chevy SS sedan would have blown their minds back then though. You’re right though, the Winder IS the insane power monster of today.

We’ll just have to sit the whippersnappers on our knee and tell stories of the “trailing arm muscle sleds” when men were men and handling be damned! I’m pretty sure I still have spare sparkplugs in jacket pockets stashed in various closets. Outer NGK boxes all smashed and wadded into a corner of the pocket...
My 69 gto ram air judge 4 speed hurst was pretty quick, but tire choices back then was an issue. But awesome burnouts....with posi! Power shifted to 3rd gear, with foot on the brakes and literally burnt 2 holes in the pavement in front of a friend's house...once the smoke cleared....lol! Fun!

Dan, I think the Doo turbo will never have that instant throttle response the Winder has due to the single throttle body and manifold set up they use.

No doubt the 900t is going be be a nice machine, but its going to take injectors and/or fuel pressure regulator just to get to stock WInder 205HP. The 900t is out of injectors and pushing it at 180-190 HP, in the cold air at 200HP its lean with stock injectors and fuel regulator.

They also can't keep the front end down on the 900t, even stock. Same problem I had with my turbo 1200, front end wouldn't stay down decent. Having the same issue now with my Winder up at 270-290 range. Don't understand why people want the front end in the air, I work like a madman trying to tune out the ski lift, and others like it. They think they are playful like that I guess. I prefer the skis ON the ground, in control and driving away!

Ya my buddies Polaris lifted the skies all the time , anything past half throttle up they come . It was slower corner to corner because u had to be straight before u could go .

I've been saying this about ski lift since I got this beast. Everyone else is removing the blocks while I am tightening the limiter straps. It's a tricky balance to keep the skis down while maintaining enough traction to get out of the corner fast and not slide the rear to far. It sure is fun though. I have my nytro to wheelie around on. Sidewinder I just want to be able to get on it mid corner and rocket to the next one.

Mike it has everything to do with where you ride primarily....

Obviously for any hi speed riding, groomed trails, or hi speed cornering ect.....the flatter sled with less transfer will be fastest. So I agree with you 100% there.

But when you hammer through a whooped out trail that is littered with trail moguls, the quick transfer and nose lift becomes a total MUST. You need instant response(QUICK SPOOL) and good transfer, to time those knolls, otherwise you land in the hole..lol

I recall a 17 winder with a horrible tune, I worked on that thing all winter and the tuner kept saying it was the most powerful tune available then. I swore I thought that sled was sick, it would fall into every hole after each knoll. Gave up on that tuner and went to quickest spool tunes(as you recommended) and voila! Now the nose lifts off each knoll and I never land in a hole.

My 1200NA did this perfectly with iTC and only 145hp or so. For me I want all the transfer I can get, it comes out harder and I am an active rider, so I have no problem hanging off to keep things flat when running speeds.

I think the doo will be a perfect little turbo for what it is....Stick that at 190hp tune and it will rock, Watching the early videos, the iTC is instant, since the little tiny turbo is literally mounted to the manifold/engine(close to cylinders) it seems the spool time is pretty much zero.

Dont get me wrong guys, it is no winder buster....but with its 40 to 60lbs weight savings below ours(depending on which model) And with a 190ish tune, I can see this sled being the next step down/below us....Since it will clearly be beating up on all the big 2strokes.....heck even stock it looks like the 850 and 900t are side by side.
