I switched to the 8DN belt this year using the osp adjuster, I have 400 km on this new belt and I am getting a lot of belt dust much more the I did with a 8JP belt. Has anyone else experienced this? I have also notice that my engagement is a little jerky too. I assume the belt dust is a good indication of belt slippage but my clutches aren't extremely hot, I am using ulmers clutch kit it i used a 8JP all last year with no issues I think I may pick up a new 8JP and see if its better

I get a lot of belt slippage and belt dust too with the 8DN on long pulls using Ulmer's clutch kit.
If you run 6-1 on secondary with 8dn it does slip. Try a different belt. Some of that could also be brakedust.

I don't think I'm getting much slippage and I know my belt is adjusted correctly with the osp adjuster

I run mine on 6-1 with 8dn....no belt dust but I run a clutch setup that engages at around 2700 rpm

so should I go back to the 8jp and give up some top end, or are you saying try like a gates belt?
If you run wide open long pulls the 8dn on 6-1 with pink stock spring and Ulmer red spring will slip. Thats why I run the Dayco XTX but any belt seems to slip less than the 8DN under wide open long runs at top speed.so should I go back to the 8jp and give up some top end, or are you saying try like a gates belt?

what is the specific number of that belt?

XTX5033 it will drop your WFO Rpm by about 200 vs 8dn.

Conditions Stingray.
That and I run a different clutch setup. I pound my 8dn pretty hard especially now with turbo and am very happy with it. I do run a lot of weight in my clutch to help prevent slipping, but I would be more worried about 8JP and dust as I would the 8dn. But yes if you have slipping on top end due to the hardness of the 8dn then a softer belt could help.
Side note: girlfriend filled her track with snow backing up and let it sit and freeze up. Then jumped on and pounded the throttle....SMOKE POURING out of the side...LOL! We freed up the track and off she goes on the same 8dn although it has to have a flat spot now
