My homework was done 4 years ago with these carbonfiber belts, rockerdan and myself were running them on our cats, why because a cat belt blower like mine was, would break one of these belts as soon as you hit OD and I would rather pay 55 bucks for one rather than 197 for the cat POS belt,so I was real friendly with the top guy at fleet supply, and they have the 8DN version 40c4340 for 86 bucks right now, could not find it any cheaper any place else though, thanks for all your testing, something I used to do for weks on end years ago, just to old and busy today to fool with them now,so when guys like you and sshagman do the testing,i listen lol thanks pete
Same here, tried them all with the cats and the carbon gates belt gave the best performance and amazon had the best deals. Plus they had wider versions for shimming. Its such a different world driving this Yamaha. It will be so nice not having that feeling of when the belt is going to let go hammering down the river at 120+ for the last 5 years on cat turbo's. Just hammering on this Yamaha on stage 3 on grass and clutches still just warm. My cats are boiling.

Good info guys. Noted in my mind eraser (iPhone)As Shagman has mentioned... the Gates 8JP equivalent is 40C4313.... the Gates 8DN is 40C4340 (both carbon fiber)
Do your homework on these belts as some people I know have found these belts online for under $80 us.
I would say both of these belts would be awesome....but I am going with the 8DN 40C4340 belt.
Here is why:
1-the belt can be run higher at the top of the secondary (quicker take off and easier moving on top of the snow)
2-the belt grabs better and will actually bring your rpms down thru the entire rpm range.
3-they last and don't give hardly any belt dust.
4-the 8DN equivalent length... I have seen better top mph than the 8JP equivalent
Thanks

Yeah Ben has been testing that SW with the stock 8JP belt ONLY from what I have seen. It obviously works well and is holding up to the extra boost/power of eco and powertrail....Would be interesting to see back to back on a 132GPS run, what the 8DN would do. I have a soft place in my heart for the almighty 8DN after so many yrs with my old girl(apex) Cheap and been around forever. Unlike all these new fangled 200 dollar belts..lol

Fully understand,we were racing on grass, two weeks ago,and a big turbo kitty all bikeman modded, had his clutches all most reay to come apart, from his three 300 hp pass,s he had done,i spoke with him and touched his clutches and I couldnot hold on for more than 2 seconds, and he was happy with that,i had raced just before him,and felt mine, and you could hold on to them till they completely cooled off,if you wanted to. well I wont be riding at Christmas unless there is a merical happening with Yamaha sidewinder parts, and I don't se that any time soon.Same here, tried them all with the cats and the carbon gates belt gave the best performance and amazon had the best deals. What do you need? money? can't find parts? i can't help with knowledge or parts, first yammi sled. not trying to judge your financial status but will a fund me page help? do you have one? i have never done any social media, still have flip phone, so not sure how to do it, but will be the first to go there to help you out if you have it or someone does one. can you update everyone on the status? we need to make your christmas bright. snow season is way too short. but do it right rebuilding, too fast of machine to do hurried and half assed. if you are family, you are a friend of ours. capiche?Fully understand,we were racing on grass, two weeks ago,and a big turbo kitty all bikeman modded, had his clutches all most reay to come apart, from his three 300 hp pass,s he had done,i spoke with him and touched his clutches and I couldnot hold on for more than 2 seconds, and he was happy with that,i had raced just before him,and felt mine, and you could hold on to them till they completely cooled off,if you wanted to. well I wont be riding at Christmas unless there is a merical happening with Yamaha sidewinder parts, and I don't se that any time soon.

Yes I have....but didn't get enough time to really mess around because the guy who came over to my house didn't have the time to do a lot of testing. Popped off clutches and made a couple passes with his clutch setup. Didn't even see the weights so if TD is using dalton....I didn't see how they look.
These clutch kits are all good and all have their own plus' and minus' to each one. Just need to watch the reviews and posts from other members.

Getting more feedback from others who have purchased kits from Lonn and because of snow now, the 129's and the 137's kit need the 1/4 inch allen screw buried in the heel followed with the 3/4 allen so there is 1 inch of allen screw weight in the heel cause the shorter lug tracks are getting some spin on take off.
Lonn has been given all of this information to set up kits now for XTX 141, 129 and 137 and just last night a BTX LE 100% stock with the 153 setup that went over 100 very easily in a short distance.
