Aftermarket clutch weight testing from this weekend

Lost 1.5mph...thanks for the info.
We need more test to know for sure but we couldn't get back the mph on that sled ran 211kmh with 8jp and 208kmh 8dn

Drag racing and general trail riding im sure it works, it runs higher in secondary we always do that on the cats.

This is something that I have thought about ALOT with this sled and sleds in general lately. GUYS REALLY need to respect the power. I know it goes without saying but I have thought about this alot lately with the upcoming season. Sometimes I ask how much do you really need to trail ride?

I remember in 2009 when the new turbo first hit there were a number of accidents and a few fatalities from guys misjudging corners as these sleds are so fast and smooth it is very deceptive and you can misjudge your speed. Thankfully after a month or so it seemed to cool out and it has been somewhat normal for accidents on the big turbos since then at least on Cat. I am hoping it will be the same for the new Yamaha and most will respect the power and learn what the sled can do and manage the power effectively. have fun and be safe!!

If you loose top end does that mean you gain bottom end with the 8DN?

yes, because the belt is longer and will ride higher on the driven .

Getting more feedback from others who have purchased kits from Lonn and because of snow now, the 129's and the 137's kit need the 1/4 inch allen screw buried in the heel followed with the 3/4 allen so there is 1 inch of allen screw weight in the heel cause the shorter lug tracks are getting some spin on take off.

Lonn has been given all of this information to set up kits now for XTX 141, 129 and 137 and just last night a BTX LE 100% stock with the 153 setup that went over 100 very easily in a short distance.

Like Nos-pro said. I had the BTX LE out for a test run last night. Only 2 miles on sled. Played around on groomed trail and powder. Did a couple short pulls and saw 100 pretty easy. That's good for the low gearing that is in it. 24/50. Rpms were a touch low but should increase as it breaks in some. Checked clutches a couple times and they were cool. Here were the conditions.

This is typically what I have found as well with the 8DN, you lose a little bit of gearing. Either machine for more overdrive or gear up if you want to get it back.
That theory is sound. However that particular sled last weekend (it's been testing 2 weekends in a row), was overgeared.
They were expecting harder snow but got normal conditions and not very good conditions. They were geared for 225kmh.
They only reached 211kmh or 131mph. So they were not maxed out gearing wise.

The belt was the sole responsible for the loss in MPH. It is possible with more adjustments and torsion settings testing we'd gain back that lost speed.
It's not a 100% definite test but enough for that knowledgeable customer to go back to the 8JP.

Really need some ice to do definitive testing. I think we should have some this weekend.

Yes, ice and 1 to 1 traction tells the whole story. Snow conditions vary even run to run... although where they tested was better than on that trail.
They ran 211 many times (consistently)

also needs another 2 .4 gm washers in the middle .

What do you need? money? can't find parts? i can't help with knowledge or parts, first yammi sled. not trying to judge your financial status but will a fund me page help? do you have one? i have never done any social media, still have flip phone, so not sure how to do it, but will be the first to go there to help you out if you have it or someone does one. can you update everyone on the status? we need to make your christmas bright. snow season is way too short. but do it right rebuilding, too fast of machine to do hurried and half assed. if you are family, you are a friend of ours. capiche?
hi bro, just saw your post, waiting on dealer to see how many hours he feels it will take them to do everything, just spoke with my boy about if it comes back way to pricy on labor, maybe he and myself can do it ourselves,at his house, that is if they don't have it stripped down so far we don't know where to start. Viper A -arms fit.
