Asphalt Results 2005

Don, I ran low 10.30s last year, just tweaked the clutching and suspension a little. You should come down for the big dollar bracket races though!

crs2fer - Glad you could make it down. Like you said, it's good to put a face with a username.

Everybody - Friday, 7/1/05, night was a blast!!!!!!

Started out real windy, but cooled down, and the wind died. Too bad the humidity rose.

Tom (MrSled) made 3 passes down the track, on my RX1, and Ryan's (pro116) Vector. Every pass, Tom was in the 11's! He did very, very well! (I think he is hooked!)

I will post my times after the race today (Saturday)

;)! Terry, Yup me too! Tom seemed like a little kid in a candy store. Too bad Terry didn't have the NOS turned on for you on your last run hey Tom?! :flag: I'm sure everything will pan out when the snow flies! :D LaLaLa

It was a blast ...not bad times for a newbie...LOL, I will get you next time Terry...LOL

Good to see you again crs2fer and Ryan thanks again for letting me run the sled. I forgot to drop your belt off with the sled...I can run that too you whenever you need it.

I could my post my times unless you want something to laugh about...LOL

Tom I'm glad you had fun.Don't worry about the beldt when ever I see you next time is fine.

I put the stock air box back on to try out an exhaust system this weekend. I am very pleased with the results to say the least. How does a 1.49 60' sound with a STOCK rear skid. Still lots more room too. More results will be up up tomorrow.

Hey monker, getting it dialed down I see.

Sorry, too many things were happening, wish I could have though. We may get down there on the 16th. Man Interstate doesn't update their site often!!! Where are you standing in points so far?

See you then.

We will get you in the 10's buddy!

Results from Sunday at ESTA. The weather was excellent, mid 80's with low humidity. Durring the week I took off the air filters and put the stock airbox back on. I also installed a new exhaust system thanks to Aaron at Excell Motorsports. This is a very high quality exhaust, fit and finish is amazing, and Aaron is excellent to deal with. The weight savings is huge and sound is like a big sportbike ( #$%&* awsome as some of the big 2-stroke guys there put it). The results can be seen in the following numbers (kind of).

Run 1 (airbox, exhaust, same jetting and clutching as with the filters)
60' -- 1.55
1/8 -- 7.31 @ 89.05
1/4 -- 11.91 @ 104.19
I spun off the line (you can feel more torque than from the filters). Raised the needles 1 notch after run, adjusted suspension, loosened secondary to 60*. Running low on RPMs and real rich.

Run 2
60' -- 1.52
1/8 -- 7.21 @ 90.18
1/4 -- 11.77 @ 105.13
Real rich still, installed stock main jets. Removed weight from middle and tip of the heavy hitters.

Run 3
60' -- 1.52
1/8 -- 6.95 @ 95.53
1/4 -- 11.25 @ 111.74
Slight suspension adjustment, removed a little more weight from the middle. Secondary set to 70*.

Eliminations Round 1
60' -- 1.49 ;)!
1/8 -- 6.91 @ 95.92
Got on the breaks at the end so I wouldn't break out, but got nipped at the line. (Basically shot myself in the foot). My best guess puts this run in at least the low 11.1's (best with filters was 11.21). 60' time is down about .05 to .07 and 1/8 mile is down about .1. Same helix as was run with the air filters which I know is lacking in the middle. Looking back I probably shouldn't have changed anything before elminiations, but wanted to get it dialed before this weekend. I should be trying a different helix Friday, then not too many other changes Saturday as the big ProSled Shootout is Sunday at ESTA.

monker - I saw it looks like rain till Saturday, then cool in the 70's and partly cloudy. Keep us informed of the weather.

Scattered thunderstorms today and Thursday.
Possible shower on Friday. Lows in low 60's, highs in low 80's
Isolated thunderstorm Saturday. Lows around 60, highs around 80
Sunny Sunday. Lows in mid 60's, highs in mid 80's.

Weather looks good Friday night and Saturday. I'll take the chance we're not going to be hit with a thundershower. Sunday looks beautiful, although the humidity may be up slightly.

This was compiled from several sources. So we'll see if the weatherman earns his money this week. :ORC
