For this year I switched out my ice scratchers from the tunnel ones to the BRP rail ice scratchers. When I took my skid out this year, I noticed the bolt holes on the hanger for the upper iddler wheels were egged out a bit, which concerned me, so I am going a different route this year to see how these work. I only had to drill one additional hole which was nice.

They work great had for two years and you can backup.

.... Why have things tangling from the skid or tunnel until you use it?
These SLP control arm scratchers are the Catz Azz.... Why have BRP crap hanging underneath, they wear quickly, rust and risky getting hung up in the track.... Fuzz that crap... Go with full stainless steel cable with replaceable Woody carbide tips.... Also they fold over when reversing and won't break like the BS BRP ones, .... They also install in seconds, no tools required .... When not in use, carry them in your trunk bag or make a storage clip under the hood.

How many miles do you get out of those tips?

You are correct, you must lift and hook them when you back up.

I have been using the Duraflex scratcher for several years. Work perfect in reverse. No need to hook them up when backing up.

Yep, then ends fall off. I gave up because of the price and they dont warranty the product.

I had a similar experience with the cable style scratchers mounted to my skid - lost the whole tip on one side in less than 100 miles of trail riding... I live in an area where it is common to cross rail road tracks, guessing that it hooked and pulled the end right off. Only spring loaded stuff for me moving forward...

I had the cable style scratchers mounted to the skis and the spindles were getting all chipped up from the debris the scratchers would throw at them.

I also had them hanging from the sway bar link and I could hear them pounding the bottom of the sled.. hated it.
