I just had the orange secondary spring installed and haven't had a chance to try it (damn ma nature. ) I had no belt issues last year with TP clutch kit, 35/39 Helix, and stock secondary spring (machined for coil bind). Was hoping for a little better top end, though. After reading some stuff here, worried about heat or potential belt issues with this new spring. Do I actually have any worries with this set up? Will be the same as previously set up, but orange TP secondary spring (wrapped at 3-3.) Thoughts?

Run it! It's a good stiff spring. It will definitely grab the belt and maybe raise your rpm a smidge. A lot of variables here guys. I tried a slightly softer belt then the 8dn I have previously run and my rpm dropped a bunch. More then I figured. I have my sled thawing and need to check how much belt dust and such. And tighten two clamps buried under gas tank. Found my leak. Damn cold this am in the UP. -19.I just had the orange secondary spring installed and haven't had a chance to try it (damn ma nature. ) I had no belt issues last year with TP clutch kit, 35/39 Helix, and stock secondary spring (machined for coil bind). Will do. You know I especially trust your feedback. Even more hopeful now hearing it may raise rpm a tad, as that was one thing still a touch low wot. Mr. Sled is also running TP orange secondary spring and said in a another thread he was happy. Will report back when I finally get a chance to try it. Hoping predicted weather pans out in next day. If any more questions I'll probably bother you and NOS.Run it! It's a good stiff spring. It will definitely grab the belt and maybe raise your rpm a smidge. A lot of variables here guys. No problem, I am here to help.
There are a bunch that are happy with the orange spring, but maybe @jonlafon1 with his 38 is too steep and causing a lot of engine braking because it's shifting back real fast. The sleds that most of the testing was done on were all kinds of SW's with flashes, 33/35 helix, 35/39 helix, turbo Vipers, stock vipers, apexes, nytro, nytro turbos and even RX1's...turbos and stock. Everything we put them on worked great.....but different clutch setups, different riders and personal preference are always going to happen.

Anytime. It just was not the spring for my setup, and liking. But I still feel something a touch stiffer and more space between coils is better then stock. It may work excellent for your set upWill do. You know I especially trust your feedback. Even more hopeful now hearing it may raise rpm a tad, as that was one thing still a touch low wot. For all around riding the Dalton Bl/Orange sec spring is a better solution IMO.Anytime. It just was not the spring for my setup, and liking. But I still feel something a touch stiffer and more space between coils is better then stock. It may work excellent for your set up

I think with the TP orange being so stiff, and torsionally strong....50 degrees may be easier on things. Obviously has a ton to do with your helix angle. I know I fought the TP spring installing it at 60.
I got a Dalton coming along with a 39/35 to test with now. These early spool tunes can pull more.

39/35 has my interest big time. Keep us posted. Just put the Dalton black and orange in this AM.For all around riding the Dalton Bl/Orange sec spring is a better solution IMO.
