I worked on increasing air flow in addition to insulating any/all components (front of chain case & oil tank, all oil lines, mag end of engine, etc) to try to keep heat off them in first place. I too removed the pad under muffler and put in heat insulation. My front panel vents are from Speedwerx (https://speedwerx.com/index.php/pan...-2017-2019-9000-models-yamaha-sidewinder.html), others are Frogzskin.

Like others I add adhesive heat shielding to the lower panel and added venting in the front and rear of clutches and muffler

No they are solid I didn't cut out the plastic only drill some 1 inch holesMY KNEES WOULD GO THROUGH THOSE VENTS.
