Fuse and Relay Diagram

I got a bit of snow in the 12v jack when plugging in my heated cord this weekend and it shorted out and blew fuse. I wasn't going to worry about it until I realized the dash was dead! Poor design if you ask me.

Figured just change fuse but could not get my hands in to pull them nor can you even see them. Had to pull hood just to getto fuse. No way I could do this on trail. Luckily we were just leaving camp.

After all this I am working on a relocate kit for for the fuse block to make them easily accessible! I do intend to offer these for sale once finished.

I think a relocate kit is a great idea.

With regards to the 12v plug and the dash being on the same fuse, I just ran another 12v plug direct from the battery. Hopefully to avoid shorting the factory 12voutlet and loosing the dash.
I ran it up the steering post and put it in my handlebar bag. Now I just plug my GPS that's mounted on the bars into the 12v in the bag. No chance for snow or weather to get in the connection.
I just have the sleds factory 12v outlet for back up.

Why not get Yamaheaters power supply. Two helmet jacks, 2 usb jacks for GPS and cell phone charger. It is really plug and play.

So anybody got a 12v heat gun/hair dryer we can put alligator clips on it power it from the 'good' battery warm the relays up and start the sled. Just joking I think.

Beats Pissing on our sleds with our buddies watching.
You can bet there would be some pictures of that on DOO TALK.
Thankfully no issues to date with my Viper did have this once with a Vector a year ago.

Did somebody say there was a red relay that solves the cold starting problems?

Yes. It might wire in but won't plug in. Solid states always have a small power draw also so with the cat wiring a solid state may not work. Ecu may never shut down.

This would be the same relay chart for 2018 Viper as well, correct? My sled is NEW, 0 miles and less than 1 hour on motor and had starting issues yesterday when I brought it to a friends shop to stud the sled.

As mentioned in another thread, I am pretty sure your issue is gas related. I have a 16 and it does not necessarily start on the first turn over. I found that you need to hold the key in the on position even when it fires for the first time. They tend to fire right away but not catch for a second.

I advise printing this pic and either put it in fuse box cover or manual if you carry it with you. With this you do not have to remove hood to see and access the fuses. Bigger handed folks may have a issue but fuse box cover can be removed through sidepanel. You are working blind though. This will help find the one you need.

To me all the relays look to be sealed but definitely not solid state.

I just checked my 12 volt outlet on the left side of dash and it does not work. All fuses in fuse panel are good and everything else on dash seems ok. Any thoughts? TIA.
