knapps and dans are the best its going to get to 1) prevent freeze up and 2) not cycle the oily mist through your intake..charge tubes...intercooler and impeller... with all turbo motors whether it be truck...car etc....emissions system's plum engine gases....and fuel and oil emissions back into the motor for another burn cycle I. E. reducing emissions...its a common belief to eliminate these being plumbed back in will provide better performance over the long haul...cleaner intake etc... and in our case a better operating turbo induction system... by eliminating the emission...this also can be said for the crankcase vent that goes into the airbox and many aftermarket air intakes...it is not required (although some believe vacuum on the crankcase is positive) and would put pure air in the intake

I did what mike and dan did....high loop...wrapped in foil tape...eliminated the valve and plugged the line to the intake...I'll wait for mike or whoever to test out the doo valve later...for now this is fine...
If I was to lay it over whereas a oil loss could occur...I most likely have bigger problems than the oil loss...

Dont mean to derail this thread but with all you guys removing the factory ROV, would i be able retro fit one on my mpi turbo viper, i do tons of off trail and my sled spends lots of time on its side or upside down without me.
If so does anyone want to sell me theirs or at least post a part #.

Didnt you route the hose like Yamaguys did to sidecover plug?Dont mean to derail this thread but with all you guys removing the factory ROV, would i be able retro fit one on my mpi turbo viper, i do tons of off trail and my sled spends lots of time on its side or upside down without me.

Yes but when i let someone else ride my sled and they didn't attach the tether, rolled it on the left side, half quart of oil came out the intake filter, sled was still running, looked like i had the only 15 viper 2 stroke for the next few minutes while i burned off the oil.Didnt you route the hose like Yamaguys did to sidecover plug?
You also need the Fourstroke Solutions Rollover Valve instead of rigging up something almost as bad as the plumbing these guys have attached to their $15000 sleds.Yes but when i let someone else ride my sled and they didn't attach the tether, rolled it on the left side, half quart of oil came out the intake filter, sled was still running, looked like i had the only 15 viper 2 stroke for the next few minutes while i burned off the oil.

Just reinstalled the stock hose. Took a couple minutes. Cleaned it up and rode 300 miles, not a drop. Checked it constantly, every time the rollover valve was so hot I could not touch it for more than a few seconds. Still hate having the oil vapor going in the intake tract. How the heck did it freeze up? There's so much hot air coming out of there along with the engine exhaust there's no way it should ever freeze. I have over 800 miles on already with this mod and literally thousands of miles on my 1200 Doos with the same setup and no freeze ups ever. Trail use and deep snow use and all conditions under the sun.
And you freeze it up in one ride?? Gotta be that Avatar getting some bad juju there or something.
If you remember in an earlier post I made, I mentioned for the guys worried about freezing the end up, to put a slit in the hose before the end of it somewhere, so it has another point of relief if one was worried about freeze up. They 1200 Doo comes like this and so does the Apex.
Anyway, if it blew the oil out, you'll need to re-seal that tank seal back up.
Maybe that valve sticks but don’t see how it could freeze it was so hot. Good place for a hot dogger...lol.

I take it you are not impressed with the mod many of us have done. I honestly don't blame you. I rode yesterday and today and nothing is coming out of my hose so I'm thinking there isn't much going through the intake.Just reinstalled the stock hose. Took a couple minutes. I got 2 friends, one with 6000 miles one with 11000 miles on there sidewinder and never a performance issue with the hose the way it is stock. One didn't blow original oil seal til 5000 miles, the one with 11000 miles has been re-sealed twice.I take it you are not impressed with the mod many of us have done. I honestly don't blame you. I'm thinking the same thing. The reason many of us have bypassed the valve is to prevent oil tank seals from blowing. When I was reading his response I was thinking 6,000 and 11,000 miles and no issues is great until he said they both had oil leak issues. So they did have issues?!?

Joe, ever since shag the Hoff man chimed in on his frozen hose i have been checking mine like a fat kid waiting for the ice cream truck! Every time i reach down i get a finger full of oil at the end of the hose. Today of all days i should have froze up due to the complete powder blizzard behind me while i rode, with the scratchers still down mind you, in a foot of new powder. I sure as hell wouldn't want that crap in the intake.I take it you are not impressed with the mod many of us have done. I honestly don't blame you.
