So if Yamaha comes out with their own sleds again, which brand will the Yamacat riders go with? Cat or Yamaha?

That sled looks like it has a one piece tunnel. It also looks like it has the race sled headlight configuration. It obviously has the mountain front end on it. Its tough to say what were really going to see in a month.

Depends if the suspension is good from Yamaha, Hard to say at this point. I was going to upgrade this year but I think I’ll wait to see what cat comes out with, and hopefully Yamaha comes out with something on their own..even if they do, it will have a lot of bugs to be worked out of it. I’ll keep waiting and enjoy my 2 vipers in the meantime! All Yamaha for me!

To me, the front of this thing looks like that sled a guy built on here with the snoscoot front end...
Here are some indicators of what this could be.
Slanted in spindles, big lug and short seat indicate Mountain Sled. And combined with the small headlight, it would indicate the SX Race sled.
The oversized looking coil overs could mean the scale of this sled is for children, but I could be over analyzing. The width of the chassis sort of indicates something that could accommodate a 4-stroke. Or a chassis truly designed around the potential engines in the line up. Not whatever could be shoe horned in it.

That is what I was thinking. They should have a youth model that looks exactly like the race model. Nothing would get a kid more excited about the sport than driving what they think looks like the one they saw on the track.
That's every kids dream. And it needs to be priced right. The 200 is steep in my book. But if they had the 300 in that price range, it may be just perfect. The back lots are going to run out of Indy Lites and 340's sooner or later. So buying a new one with some updated tech, but keep the cost down would probably have as much impact on the long term sport as a race division.
I loved the day at ERX when non snowmobiling families were invited out to let their families ride these entry level sleds. That should be encouraged even more now.
Nice find of that news article. I had forgotten about it.

Could not agree more, I believe that they even spell it out for us in the ad. Talking about the next generation of trouble makers. I for one will be very disappointed if the only new thing is a kids sled. I personally and looking forward to a new chassis, new 600, new 850/880 big bore, new entry level sled IE a phaser engine in a new cat chassis, as well as the 998t in a new lighter chassis. As well as cat offering spring time snow check color combos like back in the firecat days. I am longing for a 90s retro theme from cat or Polaris with purple and or some checked flags ..ahh yes the good old days of zr/zrt and xc/xlts.

I don't think its a kids sled, I think your looking at Cats new chassis and body style, that maybe the new Alpha in that picture.

It has a pretty big lugged track on it, but trouble makers does sound like it geared towards kids, I know I have 2 trouble makers of my own.
I think a 300cc would be fun even for an adult. I still ride the boys 250 83’ bravo and it’s a blast! Just won’t die lol

Maybe it will have the Phazer engine in it.

Whatever it is, its well over due for something new so I'm pretty excited. Something I just though about last night, is either Cat has done a very good job at hiding this or there haven't been any photos of these supposedly new models. If they are bring out new models then they sure should have been testing them somewhere and there are always leaked photos of sleds before they are released. How come we haven't seen any leaked photos of these new cats yet?

In the Backcountry someplace remote I'd say is why we haven't seen anything yet. Trail sleds are easier to get spy photo of in populated areas.
