if you are talking of the cat handguards...I was going to install them last year also...I ended up liking ther sentinels color wise better...but both similar in design
for power...they CAN utilize the accessory port down by the chaincase...of course you COULD wire a switch....but like DAN ...I agree with him and hate the switch and have my powermadds with leds wired to the accessory port...so key on...they're on...key off...they're off! no forgetting on or off...and if i need light trailside at night..key to first detent and on...
Ordered the Cat LED handguards on Tuesday. Same black ones that DAN has on his...loved the look and the LED Lights of the Cat guards and how well they went with the 50th anniversary color scheme on Dans sled, and that sold me since I have the same sled coming.

I have the pro cross handguards without the LEDs, by far the nicest handguards out there in my opinion.Ordered the Cat LED handguards on Tuesday. Hi Dan,
Awesome design on the CAI, after looking through the pics and basically copying yous
Hi Dan
Great job on the CAI I am pretty much borrowing your design . I think there is a better way to mount the vacuum hose on the PVC and have attached a pic. These look awesome for this purpose. They come with a punch for the hole and are inserted from the inside with rubber o-ring for seal followed up by a washer and nut on the outside

In the stock airbox, this breather hose is simply pushed into the airbox, and is the reason I PUSHED IT IN exactly the same way. Mine is tight, there is no way it can come out. Much tighter then stock setup.
I chose to use a silicone elbow so I could cut a specific size hole, and have the breather fit snugly into the elbow. This breather hose, which is cut to a angle for a reason, is pushed into the airflow. I wanted to do it exactly the same way to have that angled cut into the airflow. If you use a nipple there, it will not have the same area that the long angled cut has. I am abit OCD as you all know, and wanted it to be exactly like stock design, and pushed into that airflow with that angled cut out in the flow fully.

I spents weeks searching up barbed nipples and found most the ones I liked in UK. Weird.Yes see below. They are in the UK I am trying to source these in the US as shipping is outrageous and they are costly to begin with. They sure do make the install super clean though.

As I originally wanted one for the front sensor which needs to be clamped to a nipple, but I ended up going with the parts I had with the vent hole on tube.

Yes it would. But it would not look as centered, and likely the lid would not stay open as it would hit seat tail when opening lid. One of the main reasons I wanted seat. If you choose the Up North bracket which is larger, it sits about one inch higher off the tunnel surface, which allows for more bag options. I like the short bag alot, and even more now that it looks better without huge stripe on side. And it opens fully unlike SR21 which has the inner bag system.Dan, would your Bag fit if you had the original seat on?
I like the smaller brackets I used as they look cleaner when no bag is in place.

They just arrived, and I picked them up. I will do a post here on them too this weekend as Ive been too busy to install them. But I will tell you the screws in kit are wrong size! GrrrrDan, did you ever install your rear tunnel flare’s? Just curious how they fit if you did.

Thanks Bud! Hope all is well with you. I will have to poke around back on DT once in awhile this winter to see how all the gang is doing. Hi Dan
I see your thinking and we are probably making a bit of a discussion for nothing. If it were that important in the stock design they probably would have done something a bit more than stick the vacuum line in a hole. As for the angle of the hose, I believe that is so it makes it much easier to get the tube in the hole rather than a 90* cutoff. If you look at where the air is drawn on the stock setup it comes from the top through the filter where both vacuum hoses were, one pushed through a hole (one we are discussing) and the other on a fitting with a clamp. By going with a CAI we have changed the entire design, no longer are both hoses directly behind the filter, as one is now a couple inches downflow from the K&N and the other is even further away on the other side of the tube. This is completely different. If you look at the other CAI out there you will notice many have a threaded barb for both vacuum hoses which removes that 45* and on the tube.
So after much discussion over mice nutts but me being OCD as well (LOL) I liked they idea of a fitting rather than o hole with the tube pressed through. Also being making all these mods isnt the point to improve the sled over what was originally designed? If it needed to be just like stock shouldnt it remain stock?
My .02 and now I need a coffee and a nap.

I hear ya and understand your point of view bud
But I still think there is a reason Yam did this. They could have easily just made two nipples and used clamps on both, but for some reason they did not. The breather is pushed in with angle cut, and IMO blows back hot oil vapors as its attached to the valve cover. I believe they pushed it in, and cut the angle on it so any vented oil vapors get sucked back into the stream, and with their design the oil is not caught up on the nipple.
If they had designed two plastic nipples, it could have possibly slipped off over time as it would be quite slick.....Now with a barbed nipple it will not slip off so you are fine, but will it allow the oil to flow into intake as easily? Or will it build inside that vent tube as it has to go up/over the nipple. In plumbing you never want anything flowing the wrong way against a fitting, as it will either clog or not drain fully.....this is a similar theory here. I spent many hours contemplating what I did. This is not something I just did "willy nilly" I don't sleep at night thinking about this crap, LOL....
So while a nipple did sit better in my mind initially, and I was considering that route too, I feel better about having mine same as stock design. Im fairly sure either way would never make a difference, but I just dont sleep worrying about things sometimes, so I went with same theory as stock design.
I will tell you this, I have gone back and forth with a few who have CAI on the market, and NONE of them put nearly the thought into this as I did, just the way I am as you can see.....Its a disease for sure haha.
