BRP "Clear View" Handlebar Muffs

I have had these muffs for a couple seasons now. I have always been prone to cold hands my whole life. And so I have always tried to get the thickest gloves available, and just never had great luck when the temps got below 10f or so. About 4 yrs ago BRP came out with a thin glove that I saw in their book. One person on Dootalk reviewed them, and swore up and down how great they were. So I set out to get a pair, and that first season it was nearly impossible. But I did end up finding a pair. They were everything that guy said they were.

Special materials do not allow them to get wet, no matter how much you sweat! They are thin on palm, and have a great GRIP, which is why their name is "grip glove". I found that I did not need to hang on so tight anymore, which would cut off circulation. Now the thin glove allowed heaters to cook my hands. I dont wear anything else anymore. Now they are a thinner glove, so for temps below 10f they do need more help, and the solution is the BRP MUFFS. This combo is unbeatable for hot hands period. And these muffs with clear view are the best ive used. Rigid, and can see your controls, and they dont flop around....they fit well with handguards too.

I decided to break out the acetone/pvc plumbing 'cleaner'(depot) and with a little bit of work, the massive skidoo logos were history......look great now all black.

Shown below they are installed with my new Procross handGuards and fit even better then on my doo, since these procross handguards have brackets that leave alot more space between the throttle/brake block and the bracket, and these muffs can be velcroed on in many ways in seconds.

NOTE: At initial fitting, I feel that the new Tcat style 'race brake lever' will work just fine with the muffs. Will know for sure at time of riding test, but the lever does not seem to be held down at all by muff. I do have a shorty POO Hayes lever if need be.

Hey rocker dan, I got the brp muffs for Christmas and have not fit them on my sled yet but I’m going tomorrow and it’s gonna be cold. So my question is do I have to make a hole in the end of my handlebars for the pin to go in or how does that work? thanks in advance.

Man its nice....ergos are incredible for stand up....ZERO trail miles as ours take some time to open in this rocky very steep elevation terrain in Muskoka, so will be awhile til I get to ride trails still, but lake is ready and shes making ice fast tonight, as its currently minus 30.6c here (23 below f)

Are you saying the winder does not have holes at ends of grips? I thought I mocked mine up at home but now cant recall if I did, as I would have noticed no holes. If not I guess just make some.

I sure will need them myself here this week! Its brutal, coldest air around in several yrs.....Saying this might be coldest NYE in 50 yrs! Wow.

Handlebars have holes on the ends

Damn that was a cold night! About 6am to 7:15am (6:20am) was where she bottomed out overnight. Pumping alot of logs through the woodburner to keep up!

Last night all I could hear outside were all the trees in the bush creeking and cracking as the sap freezes and pops the wood. Just wild. Lakes around Ontario making ice FAST for sure!

Here is where we bottomed out....pics in F and C for all.

Let in run for 5mins shut it off. Let it sit for five minutes, Then try to start it.

-33F darn chilly. We've had some long rides in temperatures that low and lower. You find the cold spots in your riding gear quick. And you spend a fair amount of time huddled behind the Yamaha rear exhaust lol

With only one Yamaha left in our group we now fight over the Nytro trail pipe

Haha...yeah the apex was great for hand warming with that exhaust....

One time we had to back up one apex to the other one, aimed the hot exhaust at the side close to the frozen relay...and sure enough after a few minutes idling that hot exhaust heated up the relay and my apex fired right up. I still miss that sled. Longest ownership of any sled for me was apex.

One thing great bout this Winder is, I have the vent instead of that goggle bag.....and I walked away talking for about 45 mins, and left gloves on that vent....when I came back they were still quite warm..lots of heat comes off that engine/header out that vent!
