Some pics!....layed down first tracks on my lake after checking thickness...things are coming along fast now! Only 1 degree Fahrenheit here for a HIGH today, and colder for the next 7 days coming up....man this winder likes the cold!
First flyby revved 8200.....2nd flyby revving 8350....by the 10th flyby she was peaking at 8650, flashing 8700. Breaking her in as I did my last Yamaha(apex).
Tapping 103(speedo) in the fresh powder bone stock. And WHISPER quiet, all you hear is wind. This is gonna be a fun season!

Almost did same thing as I did last yr on Toms sled, but this time noticed fuel light was on! So I gassed her up this time and didn't need to walk home! lol

STUDS
Got the studs in now that we have ice in.
Just a few pics...nothing crazy.
1.450'' Gold Diggers in a 2/4/2/4 pattern with singles and doubles.
9/16" penetration, good trail pattern.
Stud Boy Pattern: 2563-00 Template

Closest studs together on this pattern have 1-3/4" spacing, Plenty of room for CENTER REAR Protector.

You really only have an 1 3/8" between your closest studs not 1 3/4". If you are measuring on center you need to take in account for half the diameter of each stud. Which ends being 5/16" of an inch after the math. Or just need to measure from inside to inside of the studs. Your pattern looks very similar to mine and as you know I felt mine was to close for comfort and cutoff the center protector.

Not even remotely close to hitting the center protector.
First thing I did was press my guide with studs in it, up to the top protector, not even close. This template is designed for sleds with center protectors like the DOOs all have in front, and with this setup works well.
Not sure about yours but mine measures out just fine, Im as OCD as they come.lol

Running out of gas on questionable ice sounds terrible!
Looking forward to hearing how you like this sled. Sounds like it's going to be my brothers next ride... Hopefully next year

Yes sir. I had a 09 fx Nytro rtx SE before my XRS, then got my 1200. My brother still has my old Nytro, with 10,000 miles on it. As much as I try to convince him to buy a 1200 he really wants a sidewinder. I'm only against it because I really don't want to learn an entirely new chassis lol.Hey there....any chance you have same screen name on dootalk?
They sound nice though. And they have my attention!

Dan - Did you get on any ice, was the powder loose on ice, and if so how did the Golddiggers bite ?
Looks great up there, it will set up to be a heck of a season at these temps.

Hey Brother! I thought that was you! Nice to see you over here, long time no speak. I have barely been on dootalk since I sold the 1200xs.Yes sir. I think you would love this chassie. It handles incredibly well and feels much lighter then the 1200 did. Its quite impressive just bone stock too. Gonna be alot of fun once I turn up the wick. We are loving the pilot skis on this sled, stock skis dont work at all!
Have a great winter brother!

Yeah I was sorta bummed....we had glare ice, so it was setting up fast and wanted to radar this bone stock on the glare ice. I figured I better get my studs in ASAP before the cold snap, and then ofcourse it snowed about 6-8" powder right as I finished studding..lolDan - Did you get on any ice, was the powder loose on ice, and if so how did the Golddiggers bite ?

So really could not get a feel for traction too good, but it does feel a ton better then NO studs last time I ripped her for first time. Nothing for trails yet here, so all riding I will get in to break her in will be on my lake...gonna give her another couple days in these minus 30 temps we have. Barely hitting the ZERO F mark and its 2pm/...LOL....next 3 days even colder. So no slush on lake at all this yr. Lake Of Bays froze over last night so that is a great start. Earliest we are on lakes here in several seasons!

Same thing happened here. Except our snow partially melted into the ice. Was like a mirror. Will be making a strip this fri though.
