New track Chatter on SRX

I thought so buddy.....these sleds are always loud initially with track noise. Great to hear your trip is going well. These sleds are killer when all is going well.

Dan

Thanks dan. Now if I could get it to stop coming out of gear and get these clutches cool, I’d be happy!

If its popping out of gear could this be part of the noise issue? I thought you said it was all good and 300 trouble free miles? Did I miss something?

Neutral??

When you installed the rev motor, were you pressuring it CC to install it? Mine is always lined up so Im using alot of pressure toward left(CC) to get the 3 screws aligned.....that holds it into forward gear.

Possibly? Will tear chain case apart again this week to have a look.
Happened 4 times in 565mile trip. Cruising along at steady speed then just pops out of gear. Come to a stop, put it in reverse, then back in drive and it’s fine!

I wonder if your top gear bushing is out? or you didnt have the gear in the FWD home spot and it was dragging on the shift forks making the clicking and as you added miles it walked out of gear because the actuator did not have it in the detent on the reverse actuator gear.

You’ll have to school me on how the FWD home spot should look?

Thanks for the forum boyz - swapped my 1.25 for a 1.6 Cobra on my 18SW RTX-SE. 50 miles into ride starting getting the tick at slow speeds and on hard pack. Under power and in fluff couldn't hear anything. 100 miles later still ticking and noticed the right side rail up front is very close to track edge and left side is a bigger gap. Took the lazy way out and dropped at dealer before the weekend ride. Pretty sure it's a combo of out of alignment and maybe a tad too tight. My tick isn't nearly bad as these videos. What concerns me is the amount of adjustment there is or isn't for the front? The front right slide rail tips is close to the edge of the window against the knob. The left side more room. Didn't have the tick on 1.25 through 500 mile break in. Track was ratcheting and the logical fix was to replace track!

Not studded. Thought it was chain case too but no slip in performance and couldn't feel or hear anything with hand on chain case.

Yeah the front is set by the spacing of the drivers. i'll take mine out in the off season and get them adjusted to line up in the windows perfectly.

I put 1000kms on mine. the clicking is gone!! Glad you found some use from this thread. thats what its all about!

PS.... the cobra track is working awesome!

cheers

Check it out when you turn key on it will cycle pushing and holding it in forward even if it’s put in loosely, same as my 1100 it will cycle, if your actuator is weak it will pop out there was a recal at one time for the 1100,

Update on my tick. It WAS a broken link on chain!! I would've owed powder a beer for sure. 800 miles on chain but only 50 after track replacement. Wondering what could've happened on putting chaincase back together to cause a link to go? Seems like no coincidence that mechanic was just in there doing track swap and now issues. However maybe not since currently a three week backorder on the chain.

Get a chain from Cat, Wahl Brothers or speedworks. Season is to short

Put another washer behind the top gear(inside), then you will need a washer half as thick for the outside. This will keep them engaged better.
