My right hand warmer had quit. Left is warm, thump is warm and right is ice cold.
I hate electrical problems!!
Issue #3 update:
Well I decided since I needed to replace a hand warmer anyways I might as well deal with the lack of heat from them. I decided I would approach it from 3 angles:
1) Reduce the heat from escaping thru the void in the bars by spray foaming them.
2) Improve hand warmer performance with the RSI upgrade kit, right from Yamaha.
3) Reduce the cold air movement across the bars with some better hand guards. I bought Powermadd handguards with ROX extensions from a local dealer.
NOTE: I am a friggin' idiot. Always read the instructions!! I saw the two pouches of glue and thought they were one per side. NO! You mix them together! I caught it for the second grip but the first grip I did is loose. I'm going to have to re-glue one of them.
But the air compressor trick works great for putting the grips on!

2010/2011 Issue #4:
Ice Build up! Well not a problem with my specific machine but something most if not all Nytro owners have experienced. It seemed really bad with mine with the Hauck Exhaust and open tunnel.
So I picked up a Yosh exhaust slip-on from BADSLED in the classified section. (thanks dude). Which sits higher and up out of the tunnel. Then I got an OFT tunnel block off plate and cut a hole in it for the exhaust. I think this will reduce the ice build up for sure.
All I've done so far is load the sled and it sounds sweet!

Thanks dude.
I haven't tried them yet but, I'll let you know after tomorrow. We are heading out and it's going to be -25*C (-13*F) so should be a good test.

Good to hear about the warmth. I'll have to try the foam trick!

2010/2011 Issue #6:
Starter solenoid will not work if sled is cold. I pulled it apart and there wasn't much corrosion at all on any of the connections. I blew it out and added some grease but I'm thinking I might just replace it.
2010/2011 Issue #7:
Skid parts falling off. Came home from the last ride missing a transfer block and a boggy wheel. From the inside!!!

hmm - interesting, I am finding similar on my '09 XTX. I was starting to chalk it up to installer error but I have had two bolts "back-out" on me (I guess). I lost an inner idler and this past weekend the top bolt of my front skid shock backed out - YIKES!
I had the skid out and rebuilt the shocks, etc. pre-season so I "touched" just about every bolt on the skid, I always use loctite but still had these mysterious issues. I just assumed I "missed" them.

Funny you say that because I was starting to think that the loctite that I have was bad, maybe a bad batch or something. The blue loctite I've always used does not seem to be enough.
Here is what I was missing after a 1 day 227 mile day:
*Mag side front inner idler gone, no sign of it.
*PTO side Transfer stopper (plastic block only) gone
*Both upper sliders gone (small ones at the front)
*Lower pivot arm shock mount bolt backed out till it was hitting bottom of torsion spring
and from the front end:
*Front lower a-arm bolts loose
*Rear lower a-arm bolts loose
*Steering pivot point loose again
In addition to the above mentioned work I replaced the starter relay. I am leaving on a 3 day trip and I do not want to have to jump the solenoid every time the sled is cold.
I was on the phone with a doo dealer yesterday talking trade in. But after working on it last night I decided to see how the rest of the season goes.

I'm starting to think that this Nytro and I just aren't ment for each other. If anyone is interested in this sled shoot me a PM I'm thinking of selling it.
EDIT: she's slowly winning me over. I love her when I'm riding her but she pisses me off when when I'm at the parts counter. But out last 464 mile trip she was pretty good.

I'm still on the fence if I am going to keeps this sled but if I do I think that will be the summer project. Replace all suspension bolts with nylon lock nuts!

2010/11 Issue #8: Code 48.
Stopped in for dinner and fuel system relay froze up. Most of the guys in my riding group now think the Nytro is a POS. I bought a new Relay which my buddy believes is different then the stock one.
2010/11 issue #9: Limiter strap wear
Limiter straps were replaced at the start of the season as the bottoms of them were worn. They are now worn out again.
