That pic is from the Tech Update techs go through from Yamaha. They get a book. If my dealer still has it I will take a pic.Does anyone know where I might find a copy of this diagram that I can read? It's the diagram showing the insides of the oil separator.

That would be great, I'd just like to read the text to understand it's operation better. That pic is from the Tech Update techs go through from Yamaha. They get a book. If my dealer still has it I will take a pic.

Wow perfect! Thank you very much!
No Problem. It has at least 3 diagrams explaining the box. Very nice well written clear document. I wish everyone who owns a Viper would download and read it. Its safe now. I moved the link in FAQ from Putfile to Google.

Agreed, excellent resource. I guess Cat doesn't see the need for such an elaborate document, at least I haven't seen one from them (it would be nice if they took that piece of advice from Yamaha too). I for sure downloaded it. There's a lot of great information in there. Granted it doesn't all apply to the 7000, but a majority of it does.No Problem. It has at least 3 diagrams explaining the box. I haven't cleaned the separator since we've had the sled and meant to do it during pre season maintenance when I have the muffler off. What has to come off to get it out? Can it be done with the hood still on? Thanks guys.
I flushed mine once. That’s it. Yeah I haven't really heard it being a huge issue but figured it's quick and easy so might as well do it. Annoys me that I went through the whole sled and completely forgot it was on my to do list. I'll end up pulling it out and doing it to stop myself slightly OCD self from thinking about it every ride this season.
I am pretty sure I did it when Airbox was off but dont recall whether that was necessary. I coated the airbox in that sticky aluminum tape at time in effort to keep it cool. Cant say it really made much difference but it held up well and would think it would.
