Just curious if anyone has compared offset obtained via the hurricane tool to the Yamaha spec? Please don't post any numbers in the thread out of respect for the vendor. Mine has not blown a belt and I'm just curious what the hurricane's tool setting equates to via the Yamaha measuring method. I'd like to compare to my sled.
In my case Yamaha spec before Hurricane tool and after were not the same.

Actually there is no set #.
I think that's why Dave built the tool this way instead of just XX.X number.
3mm difference between the guys i know that have used this tool.
3 weeks kids. In 3 weeks we shall have some data.

The one that did blow a belt..if it lasted for 2500 kilometers..that’s not too shabby either...

These sleds at the time no tunes just picked but riden hard, lots of passes on lake. The one that did blow a belt..if it lasted for 2500 kilometers..that’s not too shabby either...
My sled 3300km no issues belt looks new.
Other sled 4400 kms no issues belt looks new
The sled that originally blew at 2500km put another 3000km on the belt that was changed belt looks new still. This year all hurricane tune 240,270,290 so I hope we have another good year pray for snow.

I'd be ecstatic if I could get that much out of a belt. Even with my nearly stock Apex I'd still change the belt every 2000 miles just as preventative maintenance. If I could get even 1200 miles on a tuned Sidewinder I'd call my belt issues "SOLVED"!These sleds at the time no tunes just picked but riden hard, lots of passes on lake.

Most guys are having to move 2~3mm (.100”-125”) to get proper alignment. That’s significant with these high torque machines.
We shall see
To get into "alignment" using Hurricane tool I removed shim and machined .120 off. So I moved mine a total of .159

Even 2mm to me aint gonna set the world on fire. I know guys that swear with 60-61mm and claim to not have belt issues.
