I was able to run the new setup, but conditions were poor at best. Lake only had about 3.5" of ice and fire lanes had about 2.5 inches of snow/ice. Here are a few observations from the limited testing:

1. I have DTYA-2's full at 86.5 grams and it's not enough. Ordered a set of DTYA-3's looks like it will need 90 grams or more to get in the 8800 range at 2o-21 PSI on pump fuel.
2. The MoTec calculates the amount of air used by the engine in lbs/min. According to the data, the engine is processing considerable more air at lower boost. Likely resulting from an efficiency gain/lower back pressure with the bigger turbo.
3. It seems to have similar throttle response as last year, however, they always feel fast the first ride of the season. I will need to line it up against my flashed sled to get a good comparison.
4. There's a noticeable change in noise when the waste gate is venting exhaust.
5. No issues with heat under the hood at this point.

It’s coming along nice. The tune is almost final. The log files are super clean on knock and spot on AIM AFR. Closed loop control is active after 4000 rpm. We revised boost and waste gate control circuit. Turbine speed is now controlled easily within .25 psi. The factory setup doesn’t offer fine enough control to maximize pump gas power. Tommcat 3” intercooler is on the way.

Getting a flat RPM curve has been a challenge. Too much RPM at the beginning of a pull. I have been working with Dalton on a new spring and helix combo. Parts all arrived and will test them this weekend. Until the clutching is dialed in, I can’t turn it up. Sure wish I had the Yamaha clutch knowledge of some on this forum! The HRP primary Doo secondary was soooo easy to dial compared to this setup. I’m limiting the boost to 12.5 psi at this point. Stay tuned......

Unfortunately, The weather didn’t cooperate this past weekend, too warm for me. I have all parts are installed (except the tommcat intercooler-hasn’t arrived yet). Heading north later this week to finish testing.

I struggled with rpms to high at the start of a run, then dropping. Took me a while to figure it out. I had to add shimms to the spider on my stm clutch, I know that you cannot add shims to yamaha clutch, however you can use smaller diameter rollers which have the exact same effect. This is a big adjustment as it really allows your clutch wieght to be effective at lower shift ratios, you will then be able lower your arm weight to get your rpms where they need to be on top end.

Thanks for the suggestion! Definitely will try it if the new helix and spring don’t flatten the RPM curve.
 
This is cool to see, in the final process of putting a Link Fury on one our sleds. Going to be a radar run sled in Stock Turbo Improved stock. Excited to be able to have full control over fuel, timing, and boost amounts. :4STroke:

I heard good things about that system. I believe Craig at Hypersports runs/offers this system.

Testing went well today. Ended up finding pump gas limit is 19psi measured after the throttle bodies. This equates to 20.5 psi when reading at the boost box.

Rpm curve is very flat at 8900. The helix change eliminated the over rev I was dealing with. Clutching is 41-37 helix, black orange at 6 X 1. Black green primary with dyta-3 set at 90.5 grams.

Went through a half a tank of fuel testing today, pushed it hard and no issues. Ready for the trails....assuming it snows!!

Really nice setup. I see the knock levels are certainly pushing the limits of the fuel octane. Are you running straight 91 or with some Lucas additive as well.

Judging by your clutching parts and rpm you are making great power, well beyond what the stock turbo and any tune can support on pump for sure!

Looking at working towards a similar setup for my winder. Currently maxed out at 18psi with a cold air intake and header on straight 91 pump with stock turbo.
