I just ran my max spool 16sm today in 0c weather. The sled pulled 17.7lbs of boost and ran flawless all day. I checked my fuel mileage and I got 19.95mpg doing trail speeds. Not only does it make great power but, it's also good on gas. It's nice having power without a $110 ticket from a loud exhaust.Track Dyno always been calibrated with Dynotech readings. We run on the track dyno then head off to dynotech. We have gone 3 times so far and always exceed our claimed HP. I take off 10HP per track dyno estimates to be sure.
If anything my tunes are rated on the conservative side.
Also we have the best performing stock muffler tune proven on the trails. Tons of Max Spool 16sm out there and customers return and their friends too.
just an awesome tune all around, Economy Power response. Well above 260HP especially when combined with a BOV and CAI.

Can the max16sm run with either the 2bar or 3bar?
Im runing max16sm, TS bov, cai, 2bar.
Can i upgrade to the 3bar or need another tune.

If you upgrade to 3 bar you have to upgrade tune. All 3 bar does is allow your dash to correctly read boost psi. I believe 2 bar only reads up to 16 psi while 3 bar will read higher. Upgrading to 3 bar will not net any performance gains if you stay with max16.

That is stellar mpg for sure!! Mind sharing the clutching/gearing you used to achieve that?

Sorry thought you were referring to the 998’s when you said you had been there 3 times. No we have gone 3 times from our track dyno to dynotech with thr 1100 turbo sleds. This way we know the difference between our track dyno and the engine dyno of dynotech. Now we always go on the Conservative side to be sure.
But i guess you'd rather trust someone's in house engine dyno.
Dynos can be manipulated tunes can be tailored to peak high on dyno... All that is Bullshit.
Best way to check is performance in the field. We have extremely good field performance and top reliability to boot.

So everybody is running a 3bar just so it might read accurate on the gauge cluster while bouncing down the trail ???? Seems like a waste of money.. no ?
I understood it was for a more accurate reading for the ecm to use. I was not told they each required a different flash but now it makes sense. This should have been made really clear last month when i got the tune. Ill talk to mike today.
I think hurricanes best stock tune ...270 ...requires a 3 bar no question.

Not only does it read the correct boost number, it also adds additional failsafe of preventing over boost. it also helps for tuning using datalogging where the 2 bar only reads up to 16.8lbs of boost.

it has stock srx clutching, except the 75g weights in the primary and the secondary set at 3/3. i changed the gears to 22/37 and they seem to work a lot better on the track and the trails. i have a cai, 3bar and bov. That is stellar mpg for sure!! The 3 bar tune upgrade is required for the 3 bar sensor and is no charge since you already have the SM tune. It is a different map that enables more boost and power. I have data logging and have recorded over 19 psi of boost. Ben has stated that the combo of cai, bov and 3 bar is the best tune for the stock muffler. You should absolutely add the 3 bar.If you upgrade to 3 bar you have to upgrade tune. All 3 bar does is allow your dash to correctly read boost psi. Which track are you using with those gears? and which belt?

Just spoke to Mike and he said its not required but i think looking back i should have got the 3 bar tune last month. The 3 bar tune upgrade is required for the 3 bar sensor and is no charge since you already have the SM tune. 1- It opens up the options if you want to run higher boost without SM.
2- If Ben says its the best combo and it adds additional protection, ( Buckeye says " It is a different map that enables more boost and power") I think for the cheap price of a sensor TD should just keep it simple and offer the max16 3bar tune and require the sensor to be purchased. No more confusion. Why wouldn't we want more boost and safe power for 100 bux???
Am i missing something ?

I want to run my stock air box. I'm assuming they have a version for that?

TD Site says:I want to run my stock air box. I'm assuming they have a version for that?
ECU reflash Max Spool 16 CAI Stock Muffler edition (SM) 255HP+
This is most powerful stock muffler reflash available. It works optimally with a Cold air intake but can run without one (stock air box)
Makes over 255HP.
We have been testing this map for months and finally releasing it.
The testers have had rave reviews about top speed acceleration and excellent response.
* we recommend our aftermarket blow off valve for best performance.

Just a note here, 3BAR is not only for the Dash to read higher, it's for the ECU to read higher boost too. the ECU also uses the MAP sensor so if it's pegged at 16.8psi but in actuality it's at 18/19psi it won't be able to control fuel as accurately as it would with the 3BAR.

for sure... and if this is the case, why is TD selling the tune without the 3 bar. The sensor is cheap.Just a note here, 3BAR is not only for the Dash to read higher, it's for the ECU to read higher boost too. the ECU also uses the MAP sensor so if it's pegged at 16.8psi but in actuality it's at 18/19psi it won't be able to control fuel as accurately as it would with the 3BAR.
