Thoughts on my Driveshaft pls

I have a 2017 btx with 8400km and the sled it's at the dealer for the shaft. They confirmed today it pass on the warranty and they ordered the part. Warranty will be done Dec 1st. Of course I will expect there job and open the chain case to install a welded tensioner. Not many dealer will warranty the part without the sled. Same thing go for vehicle.

Good luck with getting them to weld the tensioner screws. Mine dealer wouldn’t do that. I heard somewhere that Yamaha actually has a new tensioner and that Thunder Products also has one. Have not confirmed that. Since the dealer replaced my shaft and bearings I’ll run without welded screws until I have to open the case which hopefully is end of season :)

Just another tip for guys uploading pics...

I love the GOOGLE PHOTOS APP for smartphones....

You open the app, ALL your photos will upload from phone to GOOGLE photos, FREE!..Just choose the correct sizing info within settings of the app. You can choose to keep original photos on phone, or delete them saving tons of space on phone then.

Ive been using the google photos app now for 2 yrs and love it. You then can add those pics to most all forums easily, and emails ect...or even texts.

Hard to beat FREE storage, I literally have every single pic ive ever taken going back forever....all on there, free. It automatically sorts them into date, as long as images have the meta-data within the file.

Also love the BOP "wedgie". Works awesome, I set it at 40 ft lbs on a sled with 550 miles(odo)

Dan are you using lock tight on the wedge bolt or a lock washer? are you greasing the wedge or leave it dry

don't worry i already have a new one welder, just waiting to have back the sled to install it and fill it with better oil.

I just checked mine, after welding the tensioner screws and upper gear bushing replacement, and the bearing oozed grease from last year, but no sign of rotation. I prick punched it last year and had a nice press fit, so did the same thing this year. It's not hard preseason and makes sure (by yearly removing it) that the brake disc comes off the spline easily. Peace of mind I guess.
