Yamaha needs a marketing department!
Not anymore, nothing to market. What if my wife wants a nimble short track 500~600 class sled?

Touring sleds? Sorry none of those either.
Doesn’t matter anyway because we’re out of stock on everything anyhow.

They are looking for a Harley Davidson 1990’s fanatics following! Willing to pay even more outrageous prices.
Good luck with that, it won’t be me!

Idk, is there any reason Yamaha should care about Snowmobile market? I mean seriously.
I'd say if this is it. They went out with class. And gave us what they could. 998t.
I mean to say "enough is enough" and give us the sidewinder. Pretty good going away gift.

They obviously don’t care, just looking to make quick dollars using the brand name for the last few years. They know a lot of people will buy just because of the legendary name and reliability.
Lots of companies sell the brand name and it’s manufactured by a new company. Same game here they still own the brand but it might as well be an Arctic Cat.

Well if she wants a Yamaha 4 Stroke engine in that class the updated 7000 series from Cat would be her best bet. Sad, but true for ‘19.

Well when i looked around at the automotive industry I saw the same thing happen. Trim the duplication, drop models and thin the lines. Some say its good but Yamaha has nothing left, Cat looks like the company that will stay! Only touring sled available is Cat! Big news is a SRX that Cat has its twin in their lineup!
Yamaha has a spring order mountain and I have to wonder who wants a blue and yellow sled? I see a ton of people buying Ski-Doos, The Ski-Doo touring with the 150hp turbo is going to appeal to the people who want a touring sled but don't want to give up power to get it! I think Doo has a better lineup and for less money.
This is how the downfall begins! Drive the customers to the competition, but they already did that in 2014!

Well I am sorry you feel that way. But it's the truth like it or not. The snowmobile industry as a whole is in a bad place and major changes like this need to happen across the whole industry.Huh? Has to be the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.

Hey Farmer..sorry bud it’s over yamacat spring order or nothing of that I have no doubt! There is nothing to speculate about except the official closing date of the Yamaha snowmobile division. There is no way Yamaha will retool a snowmobile line in Japan so the only hope for Yamaha would be to purchase the AC snow division that currently is too old in the tooth to be of value to anyone. Yamaha will try and pick up a few dollars in the wind down until it’s officially over. Sad for TY and all the Yamaha faithful but time to accept it is over and done.So now this thread is the most important one! What is Yamaha's next step? IN or OUT? Please let us know sooner than later and stop playing with mine and I'm sure some others heads!

I think this is a great move. Maybe it will inspire the other 3 to do the same next season. Untill winter's come around there is no need for lots of new sleds or new tech for that matter.
So creating a shortage of snowmobiles that are virtually the same as last years models so you can pay more money for the same sled because you want a yamaha is good?
Good for yamaha to make large profit margins is what I’m thinking.

Anybody ever think maybe the future is Textron selling off AC and Yamaha is the buyer? They combine into one company and keep the AC name? AC has more market share anyway. Yamaha slimmed down their offerings now, while AC has more and a couple of new things and plastics. Just thinking out loud.

If they are closing it down I’d assume they will make a formal announcement probably in January-February 2020. This gives them enough time to clear out most inventory. I’m would assume the 7000 and 9000 Cats will continue for a few more seasons until ProCross is phased out.
Assuming this is why they have done what they have done with 2019 it’ll be a long year waiting.
