Preformance of Apex compared to other brands

At the Soo 500 the Apex's took 5 out of the top 10 positions, plus 1st and 2nd. That has to say something about durability.

My rear pivot arm wouldn"t take any grease. Dealer order new part and tried replacing the arm but new one would take grease either. He then removed old zerk and retapped a new one in. Did this on both my sleds, now they will take grease. I asked about grease leaking out the sides and he said...

    06 Key fab

I use the spare key. Looks like the fob could snap off and leave me stranded. Usually travel cross country with saddle bags many miles from my truck. I carry the fob zipped inside my jacket as a spare.

Gas mileage poll on the RS Series??

Vector with 2480 miles getting 18 to 20 easily every tank. Also love the oil comsumption like zero. Put about 2 ounces of oil in after the first oil change. Love them 4 stroke. Funny after switching to 4 strokes I can smell two strokes on the trail. Can"t believe how bad that oil smells!

    fuel mileage

Apex is getting between 14.5 and 15.5. I had about 120 miles between gas stops and took 8.5 gallons on one ride. Thinking I can get 150 miles on full tank of 10 gallon. Fuel light came on at about 110 miles which got me excited because we hadn"t seen a gas station during this time. My...

    vk 1000 spark plug problem

I found starting the Vector I turn the key and open the choke gradually until it fires and then gradually back off the choke as quickly as I can and keep it running and then let it climb to temp with choke off. Usually about half choke is all that is needed.

    Beond MAX transfer rod setting.

Not sure if you read it or not but someone gave a great tip on adjusting the limiter strap of few weeks ago. Lift the rear of sled up and slide something under the track near the limiter strap: stack of wood or garage dolly and then let the rear down on the dolly. This will give enough slack to...

    Shimming the skis

I did it the hard way. Took the ski off and cut a piece of plastic from an old slide about 1/4 in thick and 1 1/2 wide with a hack saw. Place the plastic material on the back side bottom of the rubber bumper where the ski mounts to the sled. I used some Goop and a screw. Not sure about the...

where to get BIG saddlebags for apex

I bought a set of Choko Deluxe Bags and had an extra strap sewn on the bottom so I could attach each side to the rear bumper away from the exhuast pipes. Seem to work ok, side bags fairly roomy and a small top bag. Planning on a 5 day trip next week so what ever I can get into the bags will be...

Any one running woodys 6" trail blazer 4 carbides?

Are you talking Woody Duolley"s with two carbides on each skag? The 6" Duolley"s is what I am running. Seem to work well on my sled with no studs. I am going to wait to stud next season. Too late now. I ran Woodies for a few years on Polaris's and seem to eliminate some of the dog tracking...
