if we all had great snow conditions would that make a difference with our decisions right now? I would have purchased a new nytro rtx with powering steering for sure. thinking about polaris 800 pro r for extra sled.

I'm not brand loyal by any means but you should spend some time on some Polaris specific forums and read about the issues guys are having with the 800 motors.

I know it isn't internet bullsh!t since my friend owns an '08 Dragon 800 RMK and has experienced most of the problems. Basically his sled has been so unreliable that he's scared to ride it anywhere that it would be difficult to tow out (which is just about everywhere when it comes to a mountain sled) and it has spent a lot of time at the dealer getting all the updates. Trouble is, none of the updates have fixed it.

I'm not exaggerating, his 800 has been an unreliable POS. I feel bad for him since he drunk talked about buying an Apex, but of course reverted back to his Polaris roots the next morning and later on bought the Dragon. Apparently it is hard to break away from a brand you've owned since Jr High.

I have planned on replacing my 07 Apex MTX for 2 years. I love the sled whole heartidly. Smooth linear power. Excellent reliability. Change the oils annually and some grease. What more could you ask for. Have done some very mild changes. Camo Extreme 2.5" track. Hauck Exhaust. Risers, little things. I have 5000 km's on it, which for a mountain sled is pretty good.
The plan was to buy the new moutain model. Yamaha completely let me down. I figured when they discountinued the APEX Mountain it was to make room for something in the high horse awesome category. Nope!
So to the point of this thread, I'm waiting to see the Artic Cat release, as the rumour is a M1000 with 190 HP out of the box.
Hmmmmmm Full of Fuel & Ready to ride it's 180 #'s lighter and has 40 more horse, and the iceing on the cake, $ 2,200.00 CAN cheaper.

I'm pretty bitter with Yamaha right now and would not care one single bit if their factory burnt to the ground.

I beleive it, The fella I bought my LTX from son in law had his entire Polaris 800 replaced because of all the issues he had with it. I think it was an 08 also.

nope sort of let down price way to high I can by last years for 7500 & that leaves money for yama charger m-20 and lots of other things that always need changing I agree less to be spent on 2011 but only if I get one for 10.000 no more Im hoping someone comes out with a like elec steering

I'm about 99% sure I'm selling my 09 nytro se to my brother, and ordering a 800 etec

800 Etec's fly I got the smack down laid on me last weekend at our local racing spot by one. It was untouchable even by the Z1 Cat.

Waited for the Yamaha sleds and see that there is nothing for me. Buying a new(-er) CF8 or a Dragoon SW 800.

A Phazer crossover with turbo had been nice or something between Nytro and Phazer, why not a 750 or 800 4-stroke. I'm not a HP sucker but 80 HP is not enough. Nope have to wait a couple of years before I go 4-stroke.

I rode 550 miles last thur - sunday with a 09 800r. The thing does everything better than my nytro... and its lighter and gets the same mpg. Now the etec should only be better, and more reliable I'm thinking.

the new sled is way out of line the only way Yamaha is going to get money from me next year is if they make a kit to install the
EPS 15K for a sled WOW nice down payment on a corvette and ride it for 6-9 months

just bought my 08 RTX/XTX im good for now
also just made the switch from DOO to Yami
cant see myself going back anytime soon - I LOVE this new sled

ski doo does have a BB etech coming out, that is the DROP promotion they have out now
a reliable source has confirmed this
it will be just under 1000 cc, etech, and in a Summti chassy
no word on HP, but my guess is 165-175
but will not be available as a shorty
