Barn of Parts Driveshaft Saver....Bearing Lock

I used blue loctite.
Once you install the bearing lock, does it stay in the axle for good or can you pull it out with a slide hammer

If you remove the bolt and hook the device with slide hammer it will come out no problem. You can then retrieve the threaded wedge with a magnet. You can not just hook slide hammer onto the bolt as you will be seating the wedge when you apply force with slide hammer.

You can also just put a vice grip on the flats and then twist and pull to work the device out after wedge has been released. Wedge release is demonstrated at around 4 minutes in the video on website.

UPDATE ON DELIVERY....machine shop tells me they will have some finished assemblies for me by the end of week and full order completed next week. As soon as I get them in hand I will start filling the back orders.

So, since this is just plain steel, is it advisable to cover the inner wedge with grease so that it doesn't rust to the interior of the driveshaft making it harder to remove, if necessary?

The wedge needs to be greased before installing to relieve the friction. If not greased it will take much more torque to expand the wedge. I highlight this in the video on website. It was also posted here in the thread.

I saw that. If I remember right, it looked like you greased just the tapered areas of the wedge (but I could be wrong). I am referring to greasing the whole wedge piece so that it cannot rust.

Im sure you can simply spray a tad of WD40 or equivalent a couple time per season to prevent rusting ect if you are concerned.

Soak it in PB blaster Or cover it with CorrosionX (heavy Duty). These 2 products will have a long lasting effect.

Filled a bunch of orders. Had my son assembling them last night!

We got one sled apart now. Should the driveshaft be 100% smooth all the way to the clip in the back or is there a little lip right before it? Trying to determine if this one has spun. It’s loose for sure... just not sure if it has spun already. Thanks!

Should be smooth with no lip.

If you have miles on it at all, it will be wearing and spinning on the shaft. I changed a shaft at 2300 miles last season. They spin with a brand new shaft.

That doesn't look horrendous, however the picture isn't super clear.
Its not smooth/polished and it does not have concentric grooves. Run it.
I would either buy BOP kit or Loctite it.
