They do yes but once the stretch is out of them the 2plies much less from what we've encountered.Um, they all balloon, a 2 ply will handle studs much better though.

Track tension, especially studded track tension is very important to preserve track life. Contrary to popular belief by many, tighter is faster. I would say 90% of the sleds (most have a tune) that come through my shop, the track is too loose, or even way too loose. Many/most think looser is faster. Not true. Especially studded.

Turboflash, I was one of those guys. I was absolutely shocked when I got it up in the air and the track was sagging 1 1/2". That was after I cranked it up to 1/2". Needs to be watched, more often than not.

The manufacturers are really pushing 1.375 in . Yes you can crank up the track tight but I would say not much after 1.5 in you'd be exposing yourself to problem.

If you read the TD Performance advice for 998s, they say no sag. Track should not hang off slide rails.PEFI's video is too loose.
Go with no sag of track.
This is copied:
Make sure you have a tight track (must not hang at all when lifted off ground, must be hard to push off the front bogey wheel). It is highly preferable to have a 4 wheel kit upgrade to maintain reliable track tension especially when running high power and or fast speed. Running a loose track will rob lots of top speed (as track balloons from centrifugal forces). Also loose track can cause ratchening of track drivers which will damage them and or the track. Radar running require a VERY tight track as high speed cause expansion.

Also I've seen studs contacting the front heat exchanger at high speeds, which is hard to believe given the space in there, but true.If you read the TD Performance advice for 998s, they say no sag. Track should not hang off slide rails.

Tracks need to be kept tight.

The faster you go, the greater the inertia of the track, the more it resists changes in direction, the harder it is for the track to make the bend around the curvature of the driver (or any idler). Just like swinging a weight around on the end of a string, the faster you spin around, the heavier the weight feels. This results in the track moving away from the backside of the driver as the track wants to keep moving (always) in a linear direction. In the picture below, the track has been thrown forward and it is only tension along the top of the skid, pulling the track around the rear idler that is keeping pulling it back into line. Any sag will be 'bunched' in the area just after and below the driver. The track should be super tight.

I went 1.375 on mine. I don't need to push it and damage anything.

Radar running big mph if track is too loose it will actually lift the skis off the ice from the force coming around the drives

Picked them up Friday. My daughter is coming from a FX Phazer to the Neo+. It should be a perfect sled for her and for my 10 yr old eventually.
