Excell Cold Air Intake and Exhaust

IDK, I didn't buy my Viper for top speed. I don't need to go over 100.... getting to around 90 in the shortest time possible while handling well in the corners is of more interest to me.

X2 here.

I already have that. Need top end to get to the corners. Not going to blow away a 600 only to have them pass me on top end. The power is there. Cripes all these guys with clutching on the cheap setup have been saying they are hitting 100mph regularly even stock power. I want that and if its there I should have it.

For sure bring it. There are safe areas there for top speed. That is all I am interested in right now. Would be awesome not to have to worry about looking at guage when should be watching trail. Thank you!

Let's move the clutching related discussion to the "clutching on the cheap" thread so we can try to keep these topics separate and as relevant as possible.

I will be posting there as soon as I can test my set-up.

Go right ahead but when you make power you will have to clutch. This all is directly related to the Excell mod since I dont have clutching right yet I cant take advantage of the power the kit made on top. When a solution is found I will update the first page of this thread and post clutching in the sticky so no one else has to go through this.

Excellent! Thank you!

While I am sure excel's intake kit is well thought out after talking to the boys at Evolution Powersports yesterday I think their design will be better.
They are planning on taking cool air from the front nose area and directing it straight to the factory air box with a snorkel and enlarged area of screening. Should give more of a ram air effect given that the air is being directed straight at the intake vs doing a 90 degree turn like in excel's kit.
Time will I guess.....

It is my understanding that ram air really does not begin to work until speeds hit 300mph+ Even then it would be tough to make work through multiple layers of Frogskin. The factory nose screen is a logical place to get air from provided you aren't riding in powder or heavy snow dust like most snowmobiles do.

I truly hope EVO's execution steps up to par with their marketing hype and they fulfill the empty promises made pre season. I think they have good intentions and it seems that they make a quality product.

Good points for sure and I hope they do follow through on there promised hp gains as their header and quiet muffler are on the way to me as we speak :)
