I need help SW down again losing coolant 550 miles - *FIXED* fingers crossed

You better borrow some ski doo attire for your photo shoots. The big dogs are going to want to see some photos.

Update: Soooo long story short, Ski Doo heard about my story (dealer is yamaha and ski doo) and sent a 2020.5 prototype to my dealer yesterday. Its a 850 renegade XRS with the new Rmotion X. All I do is give a ride review when done! It has zero miles. I need to learn more who was behind this, if it was my dealer or if it was Ski Doo's idea. However I must say that I am elated to have such a nice sled to use for the weekend! We are also celebrating a ALS sled head benefit on Saturday who was a ski doo nut (no longer able to ride), I'm going to try and have him sit on it and get some pictures. Its the only one in the US from my understanding. Winder is still TBD

So glad to hear that your dealer got involved and is trying to help you.

Enjoy the new Doo, Here’s to hoping that it is a really good experience for all and after all is said and done, Yamaha pays up on all that they should.

that is awsome! great that your dealer stepped up for you. an un biased review will be nice. scary part is i own the newest sleds of evryone i know around home, so i would only get to try older stuff if we swapped out on a ride.

Wow that is awsome on doo and dealer!!!
That is the type of customer service yamaha should have!!!

Yamaha if you are reading this please learn from your competitors

Have fun with the 850!!!! I tried one out last week and they are a fun sled

That’s awesome kinger...you’re gonna like the Doo. Two of my riding buds have 850 Doos(one 18 and one 19), they are great sleds. Snappy and powerful and light! They feel like a light little dirt bike compared to the Sidewinder.

I find the sidewinder more stable at high speeds, but the Gen 4 can vacuum up the bumps for sure. Not the blistering pull and breakaway power/speed of a tuned Winder; but very nice and fun sleds. Post some pictures and have a great trip!

Oh and Doo whatever you can to try blowing belt and see if when ridden hard if it actually can make over 100mi to the tank. Those two issues and a blown motor are what forced my buddy who bought a new XRS every season he could switch to Polaris 850. He blew his first motor, belts every 600mi and the rear shock on that too. Ride it hard!

Hats off to Doo for doing what Yamaha should have. They saw an openings and took it.

The 2020.5 model should be available to any dealer who orders one. This sounds like the dealer is blowing smoke so your lawyer wont be calling him.
Good luck and find a new dealer. The one you have is not taking care of you.

UPDATE: The new head on the winder is not perfectly flat. Nothing is cracked. They are going to plane the head at a local Machine shop and use stock head studs. Yamaha is paying for it. The middle cylinder did not seal. Who knows if it was the install or the ARP or the head. I don’t care I should get it back yet this year.

Also I misunderstood the call on the Doo. They as a company has nothing to do with this. The dealer had a 2020.5 coming as a demo and I just get to be the first to use it. I saw other dealers posting on FB today they got theirs too. It was all the dealer... worked out for me! Ill break it in!!!

Clamp force on ARP head studs @ 55 ftlbs. is considerably higher than stock head bolts. Don't understand why they would use stock head bolts since you already have ARP. I've seen head gaskets and cylinder blocks from both stock head bolts and ARP studs. No doubt, the ARP head is sealed much better (evidenced by the clear distinct lines of gasket) than stock head bolts. That said, we all know there are plenty of tuned sleds out there with stock head bolts that run fine and don't use coolant nor get coolant in the oil.

Not sure the dealer would have anything to do with s lawsuit? This really is 100% on Yamaha not providing a new motor, or by now an entirely new machine. It’s sad big corporations have gone this far away from the actual customers. They really are ignorant, this type of treatment loses big money for these companies when things go public. They are thinking they will just lose one or two customers, so they give Kinger the shaft!

A Winder complete engine new at cost for yamaha is probably around $2000, I’m not talking retail.

I guess they are too busy in meetings deciding what tone reverse beeper to use for next years model?

The head warped from the constant overheat? It seems hard to believe the head was warped from day one. Was this motor apart BEFORE the problems occurred? Was the second problem an install error with your ARP head studs? Who installed the head studs?
I may not be following correctly but did the first head have a crack from the factory and the second head never seal properly?
