Just about went the Poo 850 direction, but in the end I couldn't stomach that choice because of reliability questions. Talked to my Yamaha dealer today to try to get an idea of what would be available by next winter and that looks bleak to say the least. So here I am thinking about putting a deposit down on a 2019 Winder LTX-LE but have a few questions for winder owners. First, about how many miles are you getting on a tank of gas? 8.9 gal doesn't seem like a lot if you are riding hard. Any issues that need to be watched with the winder, legitimate issues? What are your thoughts on the electronic shocks?

DO IT!!!

I love my WINDER happy I made he move!

I just about ran out of fuel today and was able to put 9.89 gals in so I would call it a 10/gal tank

I see anywhere from 10-15+ mpg pending on my mood which varies just as much. but there isn't anything that will touch this thing! Can't wait to put the 265 kit on next season

I have put 2500 miles on my mid season 18' Sidewinder B-TX and did have an issue with chaincase. after talking to several honest dealers I would say make sure your tensioner is properly cinched down... maybe install some loctite and or other measures to keep it from loosenig and backing out..... get your suspension dialed in and order one with the good shocks .... take the time while getting use to sled to make suspension adjustments... i promise if you learn and adjust suspension you won't be. Disappointed

I have replaced
Hyfax at 2000 miles
Ski carbides

I would recommend this machine to anyone she's a keeper!

I love my Winder, miles of smiles. I cant recommend it enough. Great motor, great chassis.
I don't get the hype about the new Polaris. It is new geometry on a rear skid design that has been around for over 20 years. Polaris has yet to prove they can build a 700+ cc motor that is worth a damn, why is the 850 any different? The Fuji motors were the best engines they had-=---15 years ago!!! They say it is a " game changer" for who???? Fusion owners??????? Polaris is the LAST anything I would buy!!!
Rant over.

Roughly 130 miles per tank. Also, the LTX-LE QS3 shocks are easy enough to change trailside quickly. That is unless the knobs are iced up... I personally am not enticed by electronic versions.

Also think about saving the cost of oil... it's not gonna get any cheaper for 2 stroke oil.... $50/gal how many miles that last 1000 maybe

My sled cost me every 3500 miles
• $45 For oil change

My E-tec had to burn 1/gal every 750 miles
• 5) gallons = $250 worth of skidoo oil to go the same mileage!

And when the 2 stroke is on it's last legs my engine will be on it's second oil change
Quite a savings

First, who gives a damn about mileage when these sleds are meant to open up a can of Woop #*$&@ on anything else out there.
Second, get rid of the shitty Tuner skis ASAP. Can’t stress this enough, going through a full season with them, and even a beginner sledder such as my wife complains about them.
Third, they are no damn good in deep snow- front end too heavy- but unfreakin believable on straight long groomed trails. Just like a muscle car from the 60-70’s decades.
Fourth, don’t believe all the BS about belt issues. Both of mine are still on their original factory installed belts- no wear, no hot clutches, nothin.
Fifth, do believe everything you read about noisy clutches. To get over this, or get used to it, pin the throttle whenever you get a chance. The unbelievable pull and power the turbo produces tends to make you forget everything else about a Sidewinder.
And finally, if you do “Spring Order”, don’t expect Yamaha to make good on their promises of freebies such as hats and bags- never did get mine.

I ride a tuned Winder. I did ride with 2 Axys 800's this past winter. At the pumps one of them took $1 less, and the other took $1 more.
Also, I recently came back from a trip north. One of the machines was a 14 Viper, he was about a couple liters less during fill ups.

Best sled I have ever ridden !!!!! Stupid fast, handles great (with Curves or Cat ski ), Qs3r shocks are astounding! easy to adjust, best looking sled, comfortable riding position, heated seat is a must, with a tune it's just even more stupid!, run quality is near perfect, and can on and on.

Oh #*$&@!!! you were wondering about fuel mileage? Wel that's good too.

You will get the second best shocks money can buy with your spring order. My 17 LTX has junk shocks. I just priced Elka shocks (the best) at Advanced Technologies- between 2-4 thousand $$$$ depending on what package I want. Money well spent if I keep the LTX.

My Dad has a 2017 LTX SE that is stock. He ran out of fuel a couple weeks ago at 155 miles.

His sled has 3,500 miles. Original belt, no issues. He added a 4th wheel kit, Pilot Skis, and the barn of parts MPS kit. This is his 10th new sled since 1995 and Ive never seen him so happy with a sled!

Legitimate issues.....
Skis, possibly fix w/snotrackers. I replaced mine with 5.7pilots. seem to be happy.

Fuel, winders typically avg 14.5mpg. some more some less.

I like the idea of electronic adjustable. But seems like an unnecessary novility. Would I use them, yes.

Sled carries it's weight surprisingly well. No games with 2smoke oil. And runs very strong.

While I've spent most of my life riding the Northwoods of Wis. I prefer the longer straights and wide fast sweepers in the u.p. partially due to not wanting to exirt myself more than I have to.

10 gallon tank and am averaging 16mpg imperial. I have driven 125 miles and had approximately 1 gallon left in tank. You will love the smooth power delivery of the Sidewinder , it keeps on pulling. I have the Qs3 shocks and love them. The electronic ones are supposed to be the same quality with on the fly adjustments.

Me as well, which is why I am wondering about the range on a tank of gas. If I leave Minocqua and head to Gogebic there is a long stretch where there isn't gas available other than a few bar pumps that I prefer to avoid.

Love my sidewinder. Did order a POO 850 though. Maybe I’m getting caught up in the hype...but I wanted 2 different style sleds in the garage next year. Time will tell which one I ride more. I plan on going into more local radar runs and drag races with the winder...so looking to avoid gearing changes every weekend lol
