There used to be a king of the trail race here
It got out of hand and there was big money spent on motors to run pump. Super stroker 1100 hypersports motors. That gets pricey
It used to be run what you brung and some people can’t handle that because there’s always some excuse
I get beat all the time and it’s ok. Go back and figure it out
Or bring out the bigger sled and race it.
I believe all these sleds can be made fast. There is 4 lengths we found in clutching on the boost recently.
The 998 has been revisited and it’s also faster now from revisit to clutching
It’s happening because of competition and honestly I got lazy with them because there was none. If your going to the lake we race at the 1100s are going to be 4-700 hp
Trail sleds still stupid hp but the 998 was kinda in its own taking away the 1100. The 1200 doos with turbos are fast but they’re really aren’t many
So the conclusion is competitors brands coming with more will push more out of cat. They really never followed.
That’s what’s been odd of late
25 will be interesting

I need to disagree with the comment "Polaris Failures".I moved on from 2 strokes back in 2006 when I bought my Apex. The only 2 strokes I have left are my two chainsaws. I will never own another 2 stroke and as far as I'm concerned the only engines that are worth owning in snowmobiles are the Yamaha and Rotax 4 strokes.
I love the 998 in the Winder and T cat and also the different 900's in the Doo's. There is nothing that can compete with the 998 when it's tuned up and from everything I have seen the Boost can't compete with the Doo or Yamaha 4 strokes even in stock tune.
Every year there is so much Polaris hype and the Boost was supposed to be the 2 stroke answer to the 4 stroke turbos. I think the Boost failures are just a small percentage of all the other Polaris short cummings the Poo faithful have to deal with.
They have put a HUGE dent into Doo sales.
I think I saw more newer Polaris' this year overall than all others combined so they are doing something right.
I still say "out of the box", meaning take it out the door adjust for your weight & ride, that they are the best handling sled out there.
Although I saw one blown 850 this year, I have not heard of any Boosts going down.
I'm sure they will soon, but Polaris offers a lot AND it shows in SALES
Isn't that what it's all about to a manufacturer? SALES
P.S: I don't want one
P.S2: I guess the whole catching on FIRE is a bit scary to...........LOL

Off topic, but at this time, and things change, I purposely will not buy anything Canadian if at all possible. Couldnt enter Canada without an injection I dont want...Trudeau makes farmers and truckers protests illegal...arresting preachers..Id buy a (mostly) American Polaris or Cat in a heartbeat. (And true we are heading down the same road. Love the Canadian people and BRP...no so for the current political tyranny.)I need to disagree with the comment "Polaris Failures".

This may be a factor in on Polaris sales.

I certainly understand the sentiment but if you aren't holding the Canadian people responsible, why are you holding doo responsible. Not defending or endorsing BRP but it just seems to be a curious stance. I doubt politics has any impact on polaris sales success, they have something new, the choice for a few years was doo or poo if you wanted innovation. Lots of people attracted to the 7s display which seems to be the deciding factor for the few Polaris buyers I have talked to. They wanted something new and the one problem with the doo products is that the display is a bit meh. Its too low, and awkward in style. People like the more recognizable display of the 7s.

True, just as Americans are responsible too for our insanity. Im not alone as many friends will not ride Canada because of the injection rules, even if jabbed.
But I think the 600cc market is still king, and has polaris outdone Doo in that arena? Guess we will see with the 600 catalyst.

you must be the best ever……best ever…pat yourself on the back…Well that’s where we differ and that’s fine. Also very easy to agree on that.
Just a snowmobile and some are faster than others and this wasn’t a bash on any 998. Some just take it that way.
Like I said it’s more entertaining than anything.
998 is fast and can be tuned
Mach or 900 less is fast and can be tuned
Boost is fast and can be tuned
What I can’t figure out is why my tuned 998 beats others with the same mods
That’s odd

Just to update you don’t need to be vaccinated to come to Canada. It’s your government that wants people to have been vaccinated to come into the USA.Off topic, but at this time, and things change, I purposely will not buy anything Canadian if at all possible. I think there is a 'buy American' factor at play also. Not to say they dont handle, not many in my neck of the woods...a few switchbacks. Also seems a personal setup make a huge difference. Some dont like my sw's handling. Some love it. Depends on snow conditions too. With our horrible winter, and warm slush conditions, the curves and slim jims work well. It's a small factor.

Lol...yeah, they probably wont let me back in!Just to update you don’t need to be vaccinated to come to Canada. It’s your government that wants people to have been vaccinated to come into the USA.
A friend went to Israel a few months ago...no problems at all, only trying to return to the USA. Utter nonsense.
