Yes. That arm was a PIA until I learned how to do it. You need to take all of the linkages off. It makes it a lot easier.

Are you talking about the linkage that runs from the chaincase to the shifter? If so, I did have that all disconnected. Or are you talking about parts inside the chaincase cover?
thanks,
Mike

Ah yes I had that off. It was dropping the forks on the inside of the chaincase into place that gave me the trouble. But I think I got the feel for it now, so when I help my buddy do his track swap I'll see if I can cut down on the time it takes me

I'm off in the AM for work trip then to Toronto for a weekend so the project is going to be put on hold for at least a week.. But I am going to get to check out the Toronto sled show while I'm out there!!!

I went to put the seat on tonight and the tank isn't down forward enough. After using some ratchet straps in an attempt to move it forward I have given up. Due to the tunnel braces coming into contact with the trail tank I can't get it down and forward enough.....and due to the MTX cooler I can get the right side stud pried up enough. The trail tank is now off and the stock tank is back on.
Another example of after market parts now working well together. Oh well, I don't really need the big tank anyways.

Could you heat the tank up on those spot and apply the pressure of the ratchet straps to help form it into place? That is a bummer on the trail tank.

I have read that if you take the steering gate off or loosen it the TT will slide right in.

Its just so hard to want to use the trail tank when the stocker fits sooo good. It didnt take me long to realize I didnt like the trail tank on my sled. But mine is probably worse from my tunnel being slightly different than stock.
Sleds looking good man, yeah the chain case will only get easyer.

Thanks for the tips boys I figured there might be some things to try. Without the tunnel braces and the MTX cooler I don't think I'd have a problem with it, but those braces it back just enough that I can't get the holes lined up. But to be honest I don't need the thing I might as well sell it to someone that will make use of it and it will be easier to pull my sled apart. (Like I tend to do every summer.)
I have the next 4 days off so I should make some good progress!!

Everybody loves before and after pics right!!
Previous owner had already added the 2010 wheels. I added some to the inside, shox were rebuilt, 4th wheel added, OFT rail extensions, Yamaha high performance sliders and of course the wet black powder coat.

Ok I admit the above post is a little ......well.... cocky, I guess. I apologize I was just a little pumped at what the skid looked like when it was installed inside the freeride track.....and I love the look of those sly dog powder hounds!!
I wasted some money on the 4th wheel kit from Yamaha. My OFT extensions came with the spacers for the 4th wheel (as ordered). All I really needed was the extra wheel. THe OFT extensions also feature the same type of track tensions system that doo uses on their race sleds. Only the OFT kit is of much better quality!! The OFT extensions are the cats meow if you ask me!
All of my suspension is set up at what I think is a good starting point. I'm running 120 PSI in the float Xs as I am not running a sway bar. I also like lots of preload on the front end, nice and high!!
The shox are all set with the compression at about 75-80%.......rebound I set according to the manual as "standard" which is pretty much a neutral setting till I can get a feel for them...... unless someone can help me with a better starting point.
...... tomorrow I need to turn my attention towards a side project, my truck. She's going into the shop for phase 1 or her mild to wild transformation!
