Anyone run this tune? And if I understand this correctly this tune can be run as a single stand alone tune? Does not need the 3 bar? Anyone have a comparison to powertrail? Seems they are pretty close in power.. Trying to keep cost down on tunes and thinking I may try this as a single stand alone tune.. Bigger fuel pump, ts BOV and a AFR gauge for sure along with it. Anyone have thoughts on this.. I know most say go bundle tunes and data logging.. Just not sure I want to go that far.. Also powertrail single tune with 2.5 was great.. Just looking for opinions for next sled.. Thanks

With my limited knowledge I believe my Td 17 psi tunes are max pump and max spool. One is 275 ,the other is280. Compared to the 250 my default . .the 275 is definitely more but the 280 is almost violent. But I do have 3 bar, bov, 3 in. Sq. So I’m not much help to you.

This is all I run on both my machines--Max Spool 17. I have the tune bundle on my SW, never use it, so when I got a Cat, just went MS 17 only. Cat has 3-bar, TS BOV, and stock fuel pump. SW has same but with header, upgraded pump, and fuel pressure regulator. Both machines run great. Cat smokes my SW out of the hole, but I'm convinced that's a gearing (24/50 v. 21/41) issue and clutching issue that I'm still chasing on my SW. Both machines TAPP primaries. Haven't top-end compared them yet, but math says the taller geared SW should top more. Dad runs Powertrail. Very good power from this tune, and the difference in our races usually has more to do with non-tune variables (conditions, base, rider) than it does with the tune. Powertrail is 275 hp, MS 17 is 290. For the average non-racer rider, that's an imperceptible difference. IMO, go with standalone Max Spool 17 with 3-bar and TS BOV. Outstanding bulletproof tune from Turbo Dynamics.

290 is Max Spool 17 without header or fuel pump. Max Spool 17 with header/fuel pump is 305. TD came out with header-specific tunes this year. Just so you know, the hp numbers we/they use to identify the tunes is becoming less relevant because TD adjusts the tune for each variable (e.g., header v. no header, stock fuel pump v. upgraded pump, 3-bar v. stock 2-bar, etc.). I view this as a good thing. They're constantly fine-tuning their tunes and making them variable-specific.

I have ms17 they required an exhaust, 3bar, an bov with 91+ fuel. I added closed loop. But ms17 is 290 tune. I also had cold air already and am using super quiet 2.5” exhaust.

Max pump 17 is DIFFERENT then max spool 17? That’s what I’m leaning towards. MAX pump does not require 3 bar. At least that’s how I read it on TD site. Thanks guys.

I know for a while they did two versions of Max 17, but I don't know enough to distinguish them. They don't update their website as frequently as they tweak/modify their tunes, I know that for a fact. Just give them a call. Ask for Mike.

Maby not important but on 290 I’m seeing 19-19.6 psi . 300 is 20.5-21.6 psi boost. Is that a bit too much? I know stock is best for reliability.l want it to be reasonably reliable.

I have the PM tune bundle from TD and have run the max pump 17 some of the time. It is a noticeable difference over the power trail. These sleds really become animals over 17psi and a lot of fun on the trails. I do run run the 3 bar, cold air intake, Bov so I’m not sure on the 2 bar.
The only difference I notice with the max spool 17 and the max pump 17 is the max spool does hit harder down low but haven’t seen any knocks on either with 91 octane

Max 17 is a great tune Jon, you'll love it. Big difference over powertrail in my opinion.

I was just trying to figure out which single tune I can run. I will just make contact with them in the fall and decide. Unless they run a summer sale or something. Looks like they have a 10% off right now. I bought a few goodies from TD the other day. Did Not buy tune yet as it will be for a 22 sled.
