upper gear bushing

I ended up throwing my old gear in for the rest of the season. I will research this bushing and address at next fall's teardown.

New gear every 1500-2000 miles imo....dirt cheap 13$usd typical.

Some changes have been made to another common issue I saw at show, nice to see at least they are sorta half-#*$&@ paying attention.

Where can you find the gear that cheap?

I switched my oil from 70/90 amzoil synthetic to synthetic automatic trans fluid after my top bushing was down to the copper bushing after 800 miles . Just checked bushing still looks perfect after 800 miles trip . I'm heading out next week to upper Michigan for more miles will check after , but it's better than with 70/90 oil ...

I've been using using Royal Purple 75W140 in the SW for 9000kms and the Viper for 6600kms and both gears look great. I overfill the case a bit also.

I got this part number(1702-395) for $13.95 two seasons ago. I see they have gone up a tad but still cheaper then a tank of gas so well worth installing new every season IMO.

I know mine looks decent but will install new in fall.
