Which Belt adjuster is best

Bringing this back around... Just installed the bop adjuster... Very beefy and with a stout spring and a bad shoulder... Easiest to change a belt with....

My new favorite (sorry Jim (rip)I call it like I see it)

with a big spring and the sled on a stand (cant push to open) ...I had to open the clutch a few times...this is definitely the best I've used..... and I like the big washer on the end if one was to forget to loosen the allen and the adjuster was to back off...the washer would stop it.

In pursuit of the perfect adjuster I've now addressed the issue of metal to metal contact for those concerned about preserving a pretty helix! These nylon buttons eliminate the need for the shim tool.

For those that already have one of my adjusters put some grease or anti seize on the threads. This will help preserve threads and prevent them from galling up. Aaron at Excell suggested this and I now grease before sending them out.

Well my Thunder products adjuster is now a paper weight. I never felt it was a great design. The Allen bolt is now seized solid in the sdjuster and I can't get it out. I never had any issue up until this last time using it. Thankfully this happened in my garage and not in the middle of no where. Back to the stock setup.

Mine arrived with no grease!

I spent a lot of money this year on clutch stuff and belt adjusters and other nonsense and now I wish I just left my sled stock. About 14 years ago I decided to stop buying crap for my sleds and just ride them the way they came from the factory and I have been a very happy sledder ever since. Until this year and all the great stuff for my Winder. Last year all I did was change my ski's and ride my sled. This year I'm buying all this stuff and every time I go riding I'm testing crap out and when I get back I'm checking crap. I vowed I wouldn't get sucked into this stuff again but I did and now I have a box of crap on my shelf along with other boxes of crap from years gone by.:(

Dont feel bad. I know I do same thing every new sled I get. They all usually end up very close to stock for the long term haul but it sure is exciting trying to make it better than stock and some things do end up staying on long term. Just not much!
