Asphalt Results 2005

Thanks guys.

Mark- Saturday test and tune was because of a Sunday rain-out 2 weeks ago. If there's a rain-out there's usually a t & t a few weeks after. If there is another one, I'll let you know.

Ryan- The exhaust and needles work VERY well. The new needles had me all screwed up on Saturday with reaction times in the .4s. The sled responds much better. There is hardly any movement on the air/fuel meter.

Don- Nothing special with the gearing. Still stock with reverse. 23/38 I believe?

The setup that I was running doesn't have anything special in it. Overall it is just working very well. There is no nitrous or turbo on the sled, although my next time out in 2 weeks will be with a supercharger. There's probably 40-50lbs taken off the sled. The mods I have done are as follows:

srx front shocks
light weight hood
boss seat
wahl asphalt suspension
Excell exhaust
stock airbox
stock jetting with special needles (available soon for the exhaust through Excell Motorsports)
stock gearing (still has reverse)
heavy hitters
stock primary spring
dalton helix
silver secondary spring
pump gas, 87 octane
same belt that has 2000 miles from trail riding last year and dragging all summer

Good conditions Saturday helped with the numbers. I even have that run on video and hope to get it copied soon. ;)!

Monker the stock warrior gearing is 23-38 the rx1 is 24-38 that might be where your gaining.I been running 21-38 in my vector and running 108-110 consistantly and tried the stock 22-38 gearing and it lost 3 tenths and will only run 106mph.I think the 23-38 gearing is the way to go for the rx motors on the aspahlt.

Thanks. I've got 23/38 then. That could be the gain over the stock RX. I would think you'd get better mph with the 24/38 though. Maybe not enough room for the taller gear.

Have you tried going lower yet? I wonder what 22/38 would have done for me. Compared to others at the track, I know my 1/8th mile could probably be faster. If I wanted to get anything else out of it I think I would have to go into gearing now, or have the conditions be just right.

MONKER-THAT IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great job Buddy!!!

Some SRX pics 1st

Now for the times.

Saturday 8/27/05 temp was 81 with 30% humidity, and a 20-25 headwind.

SRX runs (spun again)
1.500 60ft - 6.364 1/8mile @ 109.514mph - 10.006 1/4mile @ 129.085mph

1.515 60ft - 6.288 1/8mile @ 109.732mph - 9.993 1/4mile @ 128.789mph

RX1 runs
1.478 60ft - 6.932 1/8mile @ 94.382mph - 11.269 1/4mile @ 109.483mph

1.472 60ft - 6.905 1/8mile @ 94.896mph - 11.157 1/4mile @ 110.821mph

I decided to run the SRX do to poor track conditions, and spin consistantly. After the 1st round, they heated up the rubber, and scraped the burnout area. I didn't know what to do. A friend of mine ran the RX1, due to his pro bike wheel bearing failure. Your welcome Ken.

SRX round 1 (dial-in was 9.96) reaction time .085
1.487 60ft - 6.254 1/8mile @ 110.150mph - 10.058 1/4mile @ 111.266mph
On the brakes hard, when I passed the other guy. Won round 1

SRX round 2 (dial-in was 9.96) reaction time .110
1.497 60ft - 6.285 1/8mile @ 109.855mph - 9.992 1/4mile @ 128.678mph
awesome race! he had me on reaction time, but he spun. I caught up to him, but was inches short. Lost 2nd round

The RX1 went for a best run of:
1.434 60ft - 6.720 1/8mile @ 97.819mph! (No 1/4 time)
But that equals a 10.86-10.88 run!

Allen, I took the supertips to a new level! Rpms were 10,200 - 10,000 - 10,100 with your helix. I will talk to you soon!

Allen, Matt, Corey, Tyler, Tom, Ryan, Mike, Ken, and to everyone!
Thanks!

;)!

Terry thank's for helping out my Brother and cousin Brian at the track.I will call you this week.

Terry & Corey, great numbers from both!

Corey, I missed your call Saturday as we tested for 7 hours straight on the grass. I'll try to get caught up with you in the beginning of the week here, the same goes for you Terry. Kinda hectic right now with Hay Days around the corner. Leave me a message if you call and I don't answer!

Sounds good Allen.

No problem Ryan, they had a great time.

For anyone who cares the gearing on the 06 Attak states in the book 23/38 same as 05 136 sleds and 596 delivered weight not light but you could fool me when driving it,hey Allen great pics of you Apex and congrates at the track, good luck w/up coming Hay Days and the same to any of you guys who might be there racing!!

Interesting, the best I got stock (or close to it, re: clutching, but stock gearing, 24/38 w/reverse), was 11.113 and fastest was 112.5mph, but that's also the stock skid and no weight reduction. Terry what was the best you got without nitrous and what gearing were you using? I'm going to have to try gearing down instead of up!!!!
Well since we've hardly been out this year, I'll have to leave it along this coming weekend and get some benchmarks. However the fact that it's a virgin track, I don't expect very good traction. The grand opening is this weekend, http://www.gimlimotorsportspark.com/ , kind of late, but better than nothing I guess. Looking forward to it!!!!

The stock skid has a TON of rolling resistance, or at least the 136 I used to run did. You need lots of offset wheels. The sled will coast forever now with the wahl.

I know but due to the cost of a wahl brothers skid, I have no choice but to run the stocker. Maybe next year!!!
