Oh well. She's gettin faster as the suspension gets dialed in. Hopefully drop some more time next weekend.

Saturday, 8/20/05 Miller Lite Land Speed Nationals. Weather was hot, humid and windy. I can't wait till winter or fall.

I tried a setup from another member, to see how his setup worked. (remember, I can't do the tuning I used to do, and will go back to my faster setup next Saturday. I promised the user I would do this for him sometime this year. The bad part was the engine underrevved at 9,200, otherwise wouldn't have been a bad setup.)

I did some adjustments on the SRX, and made a pass. I still spun like a MF'er, and put it in the trailer. All the rain we got last week, and they had peelings lifting off of the track. Add the gravel dust, and spin.

SRX (reaction time .068) no bottle [lane 1]

2nd round dial-in 11.10 (reaction time .149) [lane 2]
1.470 60ft - 6.864 1/8mile @ 95.552mph - 11.137 1/4mile @ 111.208mph
Lost 2nd round, and this really sucks. I was ahead of the guy, and tapped the brakes, everyone saw it. My skis were in front of his tire, the timeslip booth guy said, but I still lost. I ran .037 off of my dial, and the other guy ran .061 of his dial. I brought this up to other racers, and they said lane 2 was way off for them also. Take a look at the mph from the 2 lanes. I found out that the lights have been off as much as 3 feet between cones at the end of the track on a couple of races in the past. This is where the mph comes from. I have no words, except #$%&*

That sucks Terry. My luck ended the second round yesterday. My last run I looked back at the end and the guy wasn't close so I just coasted, and still broke out. Turns out he never turned the fuel on and the sled died before the 1/8th. He coasted across the line running a 13.5 on a 9.5 and won. :o| :o| #$%&* Oh well, I'll try it again next weekend.

Corey - you got that thing rockin now! Sucks about our 2nd round losses, but had fun anyway.

PM me your final setup if different then when I told you.

Terry, I'll send you the clutching setup that I'm running this evening. Remember that I have the slightly different gearing in my warrior from your RX1.

EDIT: Ok, I was out working on the sled for tomorrow and never checked the clutching. :o| I'll try again tomorrow. :drink: :drink:

Test and tune today at esta. Weather in the low 80's and mostly cloudy. Somewhat windy, but no headwind. Some GOOOOD numbers!!

Tried out some new needles for the excell exhaust. They worked great and will be available shortly. So good is the response now that my reaction time is all srcewed up now in the high .4s.

Terry - :tg:

Great job monker got her into the 100 mph club in the 1/8 and 118 in 1/4 6.6 and 10.6 is very good indeed, keep up the good work. ;)! ;)!

Great job, that's whithout nitros or turbo? How did you manage that? I never got mine in the 10's and Terry's been at it for a couple of years and I don't think he got his times that low. What the scoop, suspension? What gearing are you running to get 118.44mph out of it?
Don

Results from ESTA today. Sunny, temps were in the upper 80's and moderate humidity. Only a couple runs today and didn't make any changes. Things were kind of screwed up as we got a late start. 1/8 mile run, 1/4 mile run, then eliminations where I lost with a 10.82 on a 10.80 dial.

run 1
60' -- 1.41
1/8 -- 6.64 @ 99.09

run 2
60' -- 1.43
1/8 -- 6.66 @ 99.30
1/4 -- 10.80 @ 116.20

Round 1, dialed a 10.80
60' -- 1.43
1/8 -- 6.67 @ 99.06
1/4 -- 10.82 @ 115.67

Long day for not many runs. Espically compared to yesterday.
