Getting rid of the roll over valve

Usually is, thats why I get so tired of the site... BTW, why are you not a VIP yet? Slacker...LOL
Oh sure like I need to spend more time on here. Well if this Winter doesn't get better I may spend all my riding time here and just skip the VIP and go right to the next level.

Excuses...LOL, I know the site sucks and its not worth $15 a year to be part of. I wouldnt waste my money either. :)

Fear not...Joe Bastardi says it's coming back...son of Arcticgeddon, first week of feb, and right through March. He's been pretty good so far. I hope.

All the long range models I keep tabs on show the arctic air that is currently building in the far north finally getting delivered to the south after next wed....So that will be the start to some colder temps. Lake effect will be somewhat curtailed though as there is some fair ice coverage on Georgian bay and Lake Erie....but still enough open water to allow for some decent lake effect snows.

But even if we start riding around 2nd week of FEB again, things start to go to crap usually around early march with the hi sun angles...so it will be a short season at best.

I feel lucky to have got 550 miles on mine already. Sure gonna need to do a couple trips to Qc soon.

Its amazing how much vapor is produced from the oil tank, and even worse with cold temps....My tube from tank to valve was nearly iced closed. A few more rides in super cold temps would have been bad news for me.

Im interested to see if/what the fix is for this from CAT(I wont say Yam as I dont believe they even do fixes for any sleds anymore)

Your new setup looks great, very familiar! ;)

Lol thanks to you Dan I really respect your decisions and other TY members, this site really rocks.

No pictures, but surprised by the oil/water in intake tube behind air filter.Cleaned and rechecked after 80 kms, almost the same, so I did the mod and removed roll over valve. Rode 240 kms, now intake stayed dry. Wish I had checked sooner, 2017 with just over 5000 kms. Last March rode 3 days in Cochrane, -30c every night daytime around -20c, no issues with valve freezing but did not like the amount of oil/water mix going into engine.

so what do the mountain riders do? wont this mod fill up the hose when rolled and when sled is rolled back over drain oil out of the loop?

I wouldn't recommend this mod if you plan to roll the sled over or are a mountain rider. Pretty much common sense you'll loose some oil if you roll it over. Best is to keep it track side down like has been said about 2000 times thru out this thread. Now been said 2001 times.
