Getting rid of the roll over valve

This is what I did. Just like the others.

Yesterday I tipped my sled up on its side trying to make it up a hill. It tipped up on its throttle side, the sled stayed running for about 5 seconds before I could reach the kill switch.

Turned sled back up right and it started right back up, oil light did stay on for a couple of seconds and went out. Everything seemed ok, however after running the sled for about 30 km I noticed black smoke coming out of the exhaust when I would drive the sled hard.
Do anybody know if maybe a small amount of oil passed by the roll over valve before it closed and this oil would cause the engine to smoke?

Doubt the oil can get through the intercooler and back into the engine to burn...

I would just keep an eye on your oil level tube to be sure its up to proper level.

Dan doesn’t oil usually burn in blue colour and rich fuel mixture black. I’m agreeing with you I doubt oil will go threw intercooler.
 
I know many guys remove their charge tube to find a ton of oil in them, and that is always before the intercooler.
Well so far ok with mine clear of oil and no pressure thanks to someone

My oil level is 3/4 between min and max. Pretty sure that's ok. So why is my sled smoking?

Black smoke - rich, don't worry about it they like to be rich. I'm guessing its on aceleration when you whack the throttle. What are you looking at it for when riding?

Blue smoke, oil burning being you tipped it overand he engine was running, its in the intake and going thru the engine. Don't worry about it, two-strokes burn oil everyday.

Basically, if its running good don't worry about it. Ride it.

If you buddies are behind you seeing black smoke, tell them not to worry about it, you put in diesel by accident at the last stop.

Again, don't worry about it, unless you did indeed put in diesel. In which case you want to get rid of the diesel in the tank and put in gasoline.

Ok thanks. But I will say this, the amount of smoke coming out of the exhaust you could the snow turning brown as I was accelerating

Does the sled make good power and pull the clutching? If it does ride it, if it doesn't, check the turbo to see if its seized.
 
The sled is making good power. I'm thinking when I had the sled on its side (still running) I must of got some oil back into the intake.

I'm about to order oft tether. Hopefully the cable connector will be next to the main harness to make it easier to remove the hood

If it inhaled the oil, its in the intake and intercooler and intake tubes as well. I had a friend that dumped out about 8 oz of oil out of the intercooler. I don't think with that much oil it will go thru on its own. If it did, it would take a ton of wide open throttle to get it out of there I'd think.

It one reason I chose to vent it out below the running board to begin with.
 
On the venting side of things- Is there any way the moisture that we want to expel will not go out of the loop and stay in the system, and costume to stay in the oil tank.

OR due to the temps of the oil system all moisture is sure to evaporate out?

Iam wondering if creating such a high loop may not allow it to escape.

No, the vent expels all the moisture out you'd expect. Oil temps are always much higher than water temps and there is plenty of flow out the hose to carry the moisture with it. I don't know the oil temp but I could put a temp gun on the tank next time I run it too see. On my turbo cars in the past, I've seen 225-250 oil temps always after a bit of running time. That boils out all moisture out of the oil, if it didn't, you'd see milky oil. It's not a problem.
 
I just ran mine on some short rides at around 0. Myhose had a solid chunk of ice at the end under the running board, plugged solid. Easy to bend the hose and break the ice to unplug. Will run some high miles in the next few days and see.
