i run that setup with 51-43 and white spring when had exhaust on. ran empty dtay1 and worked amazing. Everyone seems to run that cat purple massive spring but seems just makes you have to run big weight up front. viper secondary with white spring and 51-43 i never had any belt issues after that. stock setup over reved with the exhaust on and blew belts. Here is my 5 cents....
I have viper secondary with straight 45 and bolted it on my winder. It turned the same rpm as factory winder secondary with straight 35. A couple lengths slower in the midrange, but could go more than twice as far on belts.
I put stock apex helix 51/43 in viper secondary and couldn't come close to pulling that.

That Cat purple is a monster for sure. Has to take away from clutch efficiency, don't you think?

Was that a Yamaha black/orange or daltonI did a lot of testing last year with stock sleds . Best stock setup was 33/35 with stock weights. Black orange secondary. This is a trail setup.
The dtay1 are too heavy for stock. I don’t think they will pull the rpm

What's the kg for a black Orange spring?for twisty trails with the 240 flash I would try a reverse angle helix. maybe the 35/39 that the srx comes with. Black orange secondary spring.
this is just my insight.

@KnappAttack cat purple has been working good for me the past 2 seasons, not perfect for every riding and clutching setup but has worked damn well for me the past 3500 miles. Great mix for backshift coming in and out of corners hard.

Make me think if Yamaha just left the clutch’s alone ( apex secondary) there would be a lot less belts blowni run that setup with 51-43 and white spring when had exhaust on. ran empty dtay1 and worked amazing. your not the first to say that. I really like the clutching now that I am no longer blowing beltsMake me think if Yamaha just left the clutch’s alone ( apex secondary) there would be a lot less belts blown

Before you switched the BOV and was only getting 213 hp with the 270 flash what was the boost at with the 213 run ? Was it reading low ?Tested it bone stock to get a baseline, and it was only able to pull 186 HP.
Tested it with the tune bundle in, and the 225 tune pulled 203HP, and the 240 and 270 pulled only 213HP.
Many boost leaks, Stock BOV was junk(leaked like crazy), and had exhaust leaks as well...she just couldn’t make/or hold the boost to make the power.
Took care of all the boost leaks and exhaust leaks and put in a Turbosmart BOV, with the 3 Bar map sensor, and she pulled a lil over 206 HP stock.
And then when tested with the tunes, the 225 and 270 tunes exceeded their HP, and the 240 tune was dead on.
Imo..from what we saw with the Dyno...substantial gains to be had with the 3 bar map sensor and Turbosmart BOV...at least in my situation.

Way low...12 PSI. Couldn’t make or hold the boost.

I was testing today , stock Bov . 270 flash didn't see anymore than 15.9 . It was in the 16s couple weeks ago , must be getting worse .

Yup...And will continue too. Put in a Turbosmart and be done.
