ice scrathers??

I did exactly that. Then when not in use, hooked on the ski, the cable near mount plate was rubbing on the snow and wore down the plastic coating. I since made a small steel plate to rise them up about 1-1/2", should do the trick
I just keep them in LinQ bag(so small and take no space) as they can be bolted on in seconds WHEN/IF needed....No reason to have them on sled for all those miles when not needed IMO.

I have these on my ski's but have yet to use them.

Joe that spot worries me....the Pilots are vulnerable in the few inches ahead of the spindle on the vertical structures. I have seen pilots bend at this point if a heavy dip is hit. With those holes drilled there, you really are asking for trouble there if a certain situation arises. Be careful as those may fold right up.

I like these particular cable style best....I nearly went with the OTTP spring style, but changed my mind last minute for a few key reasons.

Lots of pics in link below from when I set mine up....easily bolted on WHEN NEEDED and cannot spin like other cable style mounts. Qualipieces makes them - 'Trail Blizzer.'

Dan I like...where do you stow them when not in use?

I have the cable ones mounted on the skid. I just enlarged one of the holes not being used. When i fold them up they sit right in front of the bump stop. Packed roads when temps climb to 200 I just reach down and flip them out. Temps instantly drop to 165. If I'm running over 100 on ice they tend to put themselves back up on their own but they work really good.

Well, when you do use them you'll wear the plastic coating to the steel cable, you'll see what I meant!

Dan.. What's involved with booking on... Also I see some mount to skid and you too skis... Expand on the thoughts of which is why you have chosen what you did...

I'm not sure... But it seems in front of skis lubes hyfax better... Where skid might cool better?

I prefer the flexible cable ones like Dan has. I have used them on a vector and apex. You don't have to worry about going in reverse and forgetting they're down. I don't have any on my sidewinder yet, but would go with these again if I do. The only negative I experienced was the mounting bolt loosening at times. Benefits outweighed this irritation. Mine were mounted on the skid about 1/2 way back.

I experienced the loosing part this past weekend. My right side one mounted on the skid was there when we took off after our 2nd stop then went about 20 miles and it twas gone. Guess I'll have to order another set to get the right side one!

Brp scratchers. Lots of spring down pressure, provides plenty of ice chips and snow for cooling and slides and can reverse without damage and stow easily when not in use!

Another pic from my other sled...
