Here it is Don:

This is basically how it adds up:
Div: this is our division/ we are in Div. 5
W: Rounds that I have won so far
L: Rounds that I have lost so far
Rnds: these are how many rounds I have left for my season total for my P.R. score. (I get a total of 30 rounds for the season to make a good P.R. score)
This is determined by rounds W/L, for instance: I win first and second round and loose third round then my Wins would be 2 and lost would be 1 so if I go out the first round then I have a 1 in the lose column. I have a w/L of 5 wins and 3 losses. Then they take that number and figure out my P.R. which is Performance Rating. # of wins divided by losses which is rounded decimally to .16670 for me. The other two numbers I have no clue for sure but look like my average reation times and my average to how close to my dial-in I am guessing. These are used to eliminate possible tie-breakers at the end of the season.

Good day of testing at ESTA. I finally got back to where I was, running a 9.80 with a 1.46 60'. Still have lots of room to improve, but at least I'm making progress. Lots of heat in the clutches at this point. I'll post more results after racing tomorrow.

5/27/06 - Wisconsin International Raceway
Wheelstanding Championships

Did I ever tell anyone, I wanted to be a meteorologist? I think I could predict the weather better than they could. Was beautifull, untill the storms came in, and cancelled 4th round. This was just like ESTA in July. I was so pi$$ed with the APEX/ATTAK, I was going to leave. The sled wouldn't hook for nothing! I turned the rear spring loose 2 turns after the 1st time run, and 3 turns after the 2nd time run. The owner of the track let me make another time run, and it was just picking up the rear wheel of the ski. If the storms would have stayed away, I am confident I would have gone to the final round and maybe won the darn thing.

After last night, I believe I moved into 2nd place, as the 1st and second spots went out 1st round. Also, the Super Series points leader went out 1st round, so maybe went up to a couple of spots there also.

1st time run - 84 with 48% humidity, 122 track temp, bar. 28.86. crosswind of 12mph from the south. Reaction .293 - spun like a mutha! (It doesn't look like it from the 60ft., but it just sat on the line, and that is why my reaction time was so bad. (lane 1)
1.527 60ft - 6.926 1/8 @ 96.809mph - 11.195 1/4 @ 111.866mph

2nd time run - same as time run 1 (lane 2)
1.537 60ft - 6.963 1/8 @ 96.049mph - 11.254 1/4 @ 110.528mph

3rd time run - same as time run 1 (lane 1)
1.547 60ft - 6.926 1/8 @ 97.728mph - 11.165 1/4 @ 112.239mph

1st round - 68 with 81% humidity, track temp 99 (lane 1, dial in 11.18) reaction .155
1.541 60ft - 6.916 1/8 @ 97.524mph - 11.172 1/4 @ 111.596mph
Other opponent broke out more than me. Win margin .008

2nd round - 66 with 79% humidity, track temp 91 (lane 1, dial in 11.17) reaction .039
1.515 60ft - 6.876 1/8 @ 97.649mph - 11.193 1/4 @ 101.826mph
Other opponent slipped on starting line bad, and I was hard on the brakes to not break out. Win margin .285

3rd round - 65 with 87% humidity, track temp 88 (lane 1, dial in 11.12) reaction .215
1.517 60ft - 6.881 1/8 @ 97.665mph - 11.185 1/4 @ 103.103mph
Other opponent had a .587 light, and couldn't catch me. Win margin 1.141

Round 4 got rained out, so the remaining 4 had the win money split between us.

Saturday I ended up getting 8 runs in. After drastically changing things around, I certainly needed the test and tune time. Started off with just running 1/8th mile. My first run was a 1.53 60'. By the 3rd run I was down to a 1.46 60' and 9.84 @ 131.60. After that I was trying some different things with clutching since I was building quite a bit of heat. Times ranged form 9.80 to 9.89 on all 8 runs.

Sunday was the first real day of 'summer air' with temps in the high 80s, sunny, and a decent amount of humidity.

run 1:
1.48 60' - 6.31 1/8mi @ 112.25mph - 9.90 1/4mi @ 134.60mph

run 2: took out some tip weight to get the rpms up
1.45 60' - 6.21 1/8mi @ 113.06mph - 9.80 1/4mi @ 133.88mph

run 3: changed primary springs just to try it out
1.48 60' - 6.23 1/8mi @ 113.30mph - 9.82 1/4mi @ 134.69mph

eliminations round 1: passed the other guy early, then lifted too soon and couldn't get the mph back, got passed on top end. :o|

Now that I've got the 60' times down, I may go back and revisit some of my clutching from earlier this season. Lots of heat to get rid of in the clutches. 2 weeks until I get back out on the track though with a wedding and honeymoon coming up Saturday.

Corey, you have to watch those other guys after you let off, as I did the same 1 time where I passed the guy, and backed off, to find out he had the clutching bog down and start digging in and getting big mph at that point. He just nipped me at the end.

As far as ESTA, I will not be able to make the trip out there this year with everything going on, high gas prices, no big trailer, and bills to be caught up on. Sorry guys! Go put Yamaha up in the winners circle.

Got out this past Sunday for an 1/8th mi shootout at my home track. www.nyirp.com
This was a ‘Box’~’No-Box’ race only and had over 200cars, 6 sleds, and 8 bikes.

Got to the track and it was already 78deg, it was going to be a hot one…

Pulled the sled off the trailer and made my first run:

Time Trial Run 1: running at low boost, forgot to flip the switch… so, rpm was low, etc… (my fault)
1.46 60’ – 5.86 1/8 @ 118.82mph

Time Trial Run 2: Ran at high boost… (fastest ET & mph ever in the 1/8th)
1.44 60’ – 5.64 1/8 @ 128.81mph

Time Trial Run 3: at this time I kept it at high boost, but track temp was 115deg (and going up…), I’ve still go winter jetting in, sled did not like that, so sled did not run good at all, WAAAY to much fuel… also, I popped the intercooler off so no boost/power, may have popped off from the previous run…
1.52 60’ – 5.77 @123.11mph

Time Trial Run 4: Put on the intercooler back on, but track temp was almost 120deg, sled would not even get down the track, still running high boost, air temp was 93deg… Verrry HOT!!!
1.52 60’ – 7.64 @ 72.76mph

At this point it was time to dial.. 95deg-Air Temp, Track Temp is 120deg, they are scraping the track because the track is bubbling up, and now I can see the concrete on the starting line… Not good for racing conditions, let the sled cool down a little more between runs. But, I did get the sled running so it would go down the track. I went 3 rounds (changing from high boost down to low boost), and then lost in the 4th ,( Adjusting the number per round…) made it farther than I thought I would (cars, bikes, sleds) I couldn’t believe it… Am I bracket racer now… :flag: :tg: :flag:

Over all I learned a lot about how the sled reacts per the condition and had fun…

Next time out is this weekend at: Bike\Sled Shootout at NYIRP (www.nyirp.com) June 4th

Here is the link to the flyer: http://www.nyirp.com/2006%20bike%20shootout%20flyer.pdf

Hope to see some TY-ers at the track, weather looks like it’s going to be in the low/mid-70’s and mostly sunny…

Terry,
Sorry you will not be able to make ESTA this year... Cory and I will do our best to make a good showing. (Btw, sorry i haven't got the clutch out to you yet, i will send it out this week)
Cory, good job getting the sled running better… Sounds like you will not be coming to NYIRP this Sunday… Congratulations on taking the leap :drink:

Yes, I know I will regret it,......... but family comes first.

I will be racing here at my local track that weekend also, so I will call you guys to see how you guys are doing.

Mike, whenever the clutch comes, is o.k. with me. Won't get the cylinders for a week yet.

Hoping to get out this weekend, but we'll see if I have enough time. Have a friend's wedding to go to on Saturday and Sunday is test & tune. Got married last weekend and rode the sled about a mile from the wedding to the reception and definitely got some looks! A few pics of cleaning it up last Friday before the wedding.

Edit: Terry I have something for ya, PM me your address again.

Will do...........

Just weighed the sled. Only difference from what's pictured above is I put on a set of Fox Float Mountain shocks for lighter weight and easier to adjust the front end ride height.

The sled is a Apex ER with the following add ons:
-Innovate Motorsports LC-1 A/F ratio gauge
-Racepak Hot Tach Pro
-Digital Water Temp gauge
-2003 RX-1 Seat
-Fox Float Shocks
-Wahl asphalt skis
-2005 Wahl Asphalt skid
-10.5 x 121 asphalt track
-Apex Mtn windshield
-Handlebar hooks removed
-2" handlebar riser (replaced the stock riser)

The sled with 2 gallons of gas weighs in at 587 lbs. Sled with the driver on it is 753 lbs.

Allen, next time I go to Great Lakes Dragway, I will weigh mine. I don't think it will be much different than the RX1 and me weighing 862 last October.

Went to the track today. I was the 2nd fastest thing at the track. I was WAY off though, a key ingredient was missing TRACTION! I will post results tomorrow!
