Mach Z not stock king of the lake.

Rode a mach z and the shocks are nice but they feel really heavy and are slow compared to Tcat (heavy part was surprising)

Steering is heavy, snowtrackers seem to cure the heavy feel using the same setup as you would for an apex or other front heavy sled with all of the same tradeoffs. Several ski-doo locals were complaining about heavy steering until they put the trackers on.

I don't have heavy steering on my 900r. I never felt my Winder had heavy steering either while many complained they steered like tanks. I swear any sled can steer heavy or light depending on setup and ski's. I loved the way my Winder handled and felt it steered better than any Doo I had owned up till then. My wife's 21 and now my 22 Doo are every bit as good as my Winder was and the Winder was great.
I can't knock the Winder because it still is a fantastic sled in every way. There are lots of Winder haters and I'm not one of them.

What kind of fuel mileage do the doos get?

I pretty much get 15 mpg in a variety of conditions. I find that I get as good or better fuel mileage as anyone else I ride with. My Winder got respectable fuel mileage riding those big trails up in Quebec.

Post your GPS numbers, we're waiting impatiently.

Well, since you asked, I'll start....

I went out for a trail ride today after work. Temp was 20 degrees, trails were rough and sugary with all the traffic. Stretched her out in a few spots, nothing really to write home about, as I've seen much higher speeds in better conditions. As usual, I had my GPS in my pocket. This is what today's ride showed.

I'm not going to start a pissing contest. I also don't have anything to prove. My point is the 900r is no turd like many on here keep claiming. Stock for stock it is as fast or faster than my old Sidewinder. I'm not talking about 300 hp tuned Winders. My Winder is bone stock. I can't speak for what others are running. All I will say is if you ride a stock Winder don't be thinking you are going to destroy a stock 900r.
I can't speak for other Machs and how they run. My 900r performs as advertised and I have read there are many others performing as expected. I'm very familiar with how a STOCK Winder performs because I owned one and still ride with it every weekend. I also do all the maintenance on it.
There is a lot of talk about low RPM's on the 900r and my findings are different from others. My stock belt on my 900r revs between 7800 and 8000 rpm. I tried a XS821 ultimax on it yesterday and ran several runs to compare them. Even though the 821 reved 200 rpm lower it was faster on top and got there quicker. My take after several runs is my 900r is faster and quicker at 7700 rpm than it is at 7900 rpm and I think it has to do with the stock belt slipping.

WOW that's amazing. Those speeds should be world records for sugary snow over rough trails. How rough were the trails? How deep were the moguls?

No moguls, just washboard. I'm not looking to start a pissing contest either, so if I offended you, my apologies.

I'm just a lonely trail rider and those numbers are from an average day out riding. I only posted because Fast asked for GPS numbers, otherwise I would not have posted, as actually I'm a little ashamed of the low numbers.

The doo lovers on this site should return to thier site, that way they can pack sunshine up each others arsh!!! Came off a 20 mile trail ride this weekend on a new mack z, run it thru its paces, it is in no way a sidewinder or zr9000 in my opinion. Mack did not have the WOW factor that my first ride on my n.o.s. 2018 zr9000 sno pro had in spring 2019 did, in my opinion again any body that jumped ship to doo from yamacat went backwards, the procross doesnt give up anything handeling wise when set up, and sure as hell doesnt give up anything power wise to it.
